Gas stations are not price gouging they make 2-4 cents profit per gallon. Gas is not how they make their money, it’s just how they bring in customers. Oil companies do not set the price of oil, it trades on the global market which is determined by traders. If oil companies set their own price they wouldn’t have been paying people to take their oil in 2020 (yes oil went negative pricing for a short period)

The only countries with dirt cheep gas are those who nationalize it and subsidize it for their own market. Example gas is 93 cents a gallon in Saudi and $2.00 a gallon in Russia

I am no socialist. I try to avoid "ist" labels at any rate. The terms are so overused these days and mean nothing because of that. If I must chose one I'm more capitalist than anything.

People are hurting and meanwhile oil is making record profits. Is it really greedy on my end to call that out when the oil companies are in fact the ones who are greedy? They do deserve to earn money for their work of course. Gouging people is another thing and that's what they are doing. I find that indefensible.

It's more of a moral issue for me not a political one. I'm a bit of a naive dreamer. What can I say it's just my nature.

At the current rate we things are deteriorating we won't have much longer to argue about it anyways. The country and the planet as a whole is going to hell and a handbasket. And nothing is going to stop it.

Gas stations make maybe 2 or 3 cents on each gallon. Their profits come from inside sales. High gas prices actually hurt gas stations because people cut back on driving and thus visit stations less often. Blame Biden, not the gas stations.

Gas station owners make a few pennies on a gallon of gas, they make their profits selling food/pop/cigs/beer etc
