This is why babies way in the back seat doesn't work, I know it is easy to say how can you forget you had a baby in the car but in the front seat there is NO FORGETTING!

Yes, this all started happening when babies and young children were required to ride in the back seat. And modern cars have child locks so young children can’t even open the back door to let themselves out or roll down the windows to get cool anymore. They are just trapped in a hot box, a horrible way to die, forgotten and alone.

cars should have sensors inside that if it gets past a certain temperature, and the sensors see any movement, it will automatically roll down the car windows, and possibly even alert the owner via an app

Better yet have a weight sensor that immediately alerts the driver as soon as the engine is shut off if there is anything greater than 5lbs on that back seat, or the weight sensor will not allow you to turn the ignition off if said weight or greater is detected.

Not trying to be a dick but absolutely no.... people are lazy enough, cars are complicated enough...we don't need to add technology to make people think less.

Shit happens... people need to be more aware of their surroundings and not be reliant on tech or slave to it.

Not to mention that someone that small needs to be in a car seat/infant carrier that weighs 10 lbs at least. It would need to be able to determine if the seat was occupied or not, so maybe 20 lbs or more...

I know people who have forgotten their wife and baby in the truck of their car, more than once.

The backseat though is hard to understand because it's right there in the open

It was a tragic mistake. I can't judge the guy. He may have been the best father in the world. I can't judge what was on his mind, or what he was going through that day. Whatever it was I'm sure it helped lead to his sudden exit from this world. I hope he is able, in the next life, to see his child and heal

Okay dumbass. So everytime they get home they have to get the baby out take him inside then come back to shut the car off

How about just a motion sensor that alerts by chiming if the kid is still in the seat.

how do you even forget an infant into a car. At all time, when you have a baby, you are on allert.

you are either completely burn out or suffering of some mental disorder...or you really care very little.

These incidents usually occur when the father takes on the responsibility of caring for the child. It’s the mother’s job to care for children, NOT the man’s! Women can juggle things and multitask much, much better, with much lower chance of forgetting the child.

Oh, but muh equality of the sexes! Yeah, right...
