This is why babies way in the back seat doesn't work, I know it is easy to say how can you forget you had a baby in the car but in the front seat there is NO FORGETTING!

Yes, this all started happening when babies and young children were required to ride in the back seat. And modern cars have child locks so young children can’t even open the back door to let themselves out or roll down the windows to get cool anymore. They are just trapped in a hot box, a horrible way to die, forgotten and alone.

cars should have sensors inside that if it gets past a certain temperature, and the sensors see any movement, it will automatically roll down the car windows, and possibly even alert the owner via an app

Better yet have a weight sensor that immediately alerts the driver as soon as the engine is shut off if there is anything greater than 5lbs on that back seat, or the weight sensor will not allow you to turn the ignition off if said weight or greater is detected.

Not trying to be a dick but absolutely no.... people are lazy enough, cars are complicated enough...we don't need to add technology to make people think less.

Shit happens... people need to be more aware of their surroundings and not be reliant on tech or slave to it.

Not to mention that someone that small needs to be in a car seat/infant carrier that weighs 10 lbs at least. It would need to be able to determine if the seat was occupied or not, so maybe 20 lbs or more...

But muh fredom! Don't want the government tellin me what to do!

It's not easy to forget a child in a car... we say that it is, to show forgiveness, but let's be real.

It was a tragic mistake. I can't judge the guy. He may have been the best father in the world. I can't judge what was on his mind, or what he was going through that day. Whatever it was I'm sure it helped lead to his sudden exit from this world. I hope he is able, in the next life, to see his child and heal
