I am downriver from Detroit and can relate, except there is no giant skyline, just the ren cen and a couple smaller buildings ( neighboring Toledo Ohio is 10x bigger, cleaner and more prosperous than the D). Grew up in Detroit area and I remember Detroit before the 67 riots and Coleman Young( openly racist black mayor king like Idi Amin). The D was an actual, real city unlike today where these is NO public services, No Police or Fire since most of the city is staffed by ex-African slaves. The police find dead bodies by watching for Vultures circling in the sky or wild dog packs dropping off body parts in the many weed lots.

The D is now an African Diaspora.
