If you are “doing it as a proclamation of faith”, then you do not understand baptism, and you are merely virtue signaling for the public.

That site takes the bible out of context. If you study baptism
in the bible you will find that it is a ritual like marrige.

The ritual might not matter to you, but you must be in order with others.


If it was not needed for man, why was the Christ baptized ?

UPDATE I got baptized! It was awesome outdoors in a river. I havent had or desire to smoke a cig since.. I feel a light calm about things.. My wife, mother and child bore witness. It was a blessed day! Thanks to all for the encouragement.

Weird still no desire to smoke. Still a sense of peace. Find myself not wanting to look at pornography or even lust. Not even wanting to curse. Something for sure changed.

Anything that brings anyone to embrace the love of God is great.

Our purpose here has always been about returning to our true nature of having love for oneself, for others, and for everything.

Rituals are nice if they bring us comfort. But don't do it simply because Jesus did it. What if it was incorrectly written in the Bible through mistranslation or misinterpretation that Jesus jumped off a cliff as a ritual, then should all believers do it also?

Better than rituals is to act on the good teachings by living a life that aligns with love and to treat each other with more kindness and compassion.

With pure intent and sincerely, having love in our hearts is what brings us to be in unity with God, not by doing rituals such as dipping in water by a "certified man of God".

God wants to be found, and would not make us jump through hoops and rituals to do so. Love is all that is needed.
