What went wrong with people?

Well you have listed a few of the addictions, and some of the main influences. But people will not be influenced or fall into addiction if they are well centred and completely connected to their "inner god self". This connection includes a solid knowing that we are all ONE, i.e. all in this together, i.e. every thought we think and every word we utter forms part of the One and will return to us at a later date. To be aware of this principle means that we would never want to have a violent thought or take a violent action in any small of big way, because we would KNOW that we will suffer personally as a result.

What is also lacking today is the knowledge that we incarnated here for a reason, and that my be a learning session, or it may be a helping session, but at any rate it will have something to do with increasing the positive vibrations here on earth.

We are now reading the apex of depravity, leading to self-destruction. It is a rise in spirituality which will save this world, and which will rise as a result of wide scale destruction, after which we can reconnect to our "divine roots" which many of us didn't realize we had.

I would also say that this "going wrong" thing with people is not just a recent phenomenon; evil has always been demonstrated by "lower minds". It is just that now - because we are in more uplifting cosmic energies - that this behaviour is being completely exposed, and thus is more seen and more obvious.

I could write pages on why civility and compassion are on the decline. But, in short, it’s the internet. Dirtbags and mean people were once shunned by society. Now those same dirtbags and assholes can find others of the same ilk and then they find their behavior is OK and even supported. The moderation to not be an ass is not in place any longer.
