You might want to check out the dates where the increases actually began making their way through Congress.

You'll find more increases, plus a completely new and more accurate way than the 1970's model they were using prior, was begun in the years 2017-2021.

Additionally each state has a say in how much each person gets, what the qualifiers are, and how much of an increase is given. It's not just federal.

I’m a snob for quality food and will pay higher prices for fresher, more quality food. I discount shop certain products but organic milk, grass fed cow butter, quality beef, organic berries.

Food is a pleasure I enjoy preparing and eating and sharing with others. Some weeks are busy and I forgot to make the space I need in my schedule to enjoy all that surrounds meal prep, sno quick, cheaper and easy foods are a go to. Mostly, I regret being mindless and cheap about my food.

But, I also am not big on social appearance and drive an older beat up car and don’t dress in fashion. I’d rather spend on better food.

I watched that video last evening. One point that she brought out that the average person on SNAP receives One Hundred Twenty-Three Dollars a month on SNAP. She was attempting to meet that goal to show that it could be done by the average person. That is reality, and many people are having to eat on this budget.

Nothing but a lot of genetically modified, high fructose corn syrup, filler garbage. Not fit for human consumption.

Good thing she’s saving a ton on food. She’ll need the extra money for medical when her health fails from eating that “food.”

1600 calories??

Bwahahahaha

I burn that amount of calories before breakfast.

On my 10 mile runs I burn about 1200 calories in the hour and a half it takes me to run it.

Factor in some mornings where I follow my runs with jump burpees and pushup/pullups and I need that just for breakfast.

Then I go work climbing trees all day....

I consume about 4-4500 calories a day and still sometimes go to bed a little hungry.

If there's a famine, I'm in deep doo-doo.

Maybe I'll be like AJ a d go eat my neighbors....

Get it down to $0 by learning the fine art of dumpster diving

In my younger foolish days a buddy of mine showed me a KFC that unloaded two 55 gallon bags of everything on the menu right before the end of the shift.

Chicken Dinners
Pulled Bar B Q
All the sides
Desserts

Just had to provide your own drinks.

It probably would have cost $1,000 a bag if you ordered it all from the drive up window as there was enough in one bag to feed 50 people.

Absolute truth for me as well. I will cut back on what I drive and fancy clothes before I cut back on quality food that won't kill me. I drive an 18 yr old suv and haven't bought any new shoes lately with the high food cost. No regrets. Food is good.Quality of life matters.

It's just a fraternity prank, right?

When I was in college I got food stamps for working on campus (work study). I never really used them, so at the end of the month I would take my housemates to the grocery store (a girl from Micronesia and a Japanese girl), and tell them to buy whatever they liked for a feast. That was a blast.
