Maybe they won’t shoot it down cause it could trigger an emp? What is in it? Fentanyl? Ebola? Or, is it just designed to distract us. I can’t tell anymore.

I doubt they would arm it with a nuke. Too much chance of their warhead design ending up in our hands.

However, when I worked on SDI, we discussed the possibility of “salvage fusing” where a nuke detonates the moment we hit it with an anti-missile, laser, or whatever. Rooskis have some brilliant engineers.

You're assuming that the President of the United States has full control over whether *other* world leaders would start a nuclear war. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter who's in the White House, a nuclear war is always a possibility.

Now it sounds like Canada tracked the balloon for a couple of days.
However, there are reports that there is a second balloon in Canada.
Who knows what’s what anymore.

There are things about this balloon story that don't add up for me. When I first saw the story on my phone, I thought it surely was a joke. Then, it was on the news and on here. When people here started saying it was moving here or there, I decided to look on the wind map. [link to www.ventusky.com (secure)]

The first thing I noticed was I couldn't get the site to respond to change. I wish I'd thought to get a screen shot last night, because the winds aloft didn't support the kind of movement needed for a balloon to move in the directions people were posting. We seem to be much windier today than last night. The winds last night were actually moving back into Canada, not southerly. Maybe someone better at this can see something better, idk.

The second thing is, it just doesn't make a lot of sense. In this age of electronic surveillance, why a balloon? What intel could anyone possibly get from a balloon that they couldn't get easier from satellites? If they are sniffing, it wouldn't be very stealthy to send up a balloon of that size, obviously.

Someone on another thread was asking about the height of our legal airspace. I have no idea, but if the balloon is actually "in space" this could make some sense.

Back to the winds, if this thing really is moving in the direction reported, wouldn't it have to have mechanical propulsion? Like I said earlier, the winds on the map didn't support the direction reported.

Too many questions.

Man, if we get nuked, I am going to end up in rock and roll HELL for never making it to Graceland!
