in the very beginning i felt the monotany of it all when all that was posted was #'s constantly of cases all over the globe. that's when i decided to start telling jokes to break it up and liven the situation up during the chaos.

the trainwreck went slower and slower. over time i tried to educate for the world that is coming. never expected this slow burn to continue this long. never thought the ppl would handle the yoyo of masks on/off again and again. for the most part the public didn't. they have gone to vaxes or no masks. some places like schools did go in/out of lockdowns but very few places. i think that is 1 reason parents never completely returned to work. 1 was kept as a backup for school closings.

by now many ppl have chosen their fates. some have said" if it happens, it does. or they'll "deal with the food shortage after it runs out". others are prepped for a short run only and betting on neighbor help. fate has been decided. if the situation goes full collapse and raiders show up. many don't want to live. many don't want to if life can't b like 2019.

the US has no real clue what is coming. we have always been protected from such events. even during the GD and WW2, we had farms. we weren't as separated from farms as much as today. and ppl were more neighborly back then. ppl in Europe do have a better understanding,at least the older generations.

it isn't just the shortage of food and meds that will kill ppl off. it is also the mental and emotional drain. each year will get harder for a while. probly for 5 yrs.

the crystal ball says after the downward spiral, there will b a decade of war on US soil. the nation will split from it's 50 state status into many smaller parts. these parts won't b the size of the states we have. the states will split. there is already rifts between rural towns and the metro cities that use up the tax $$. with pandemics, plural, many small communities will die out.

oh i do think the govern has plans to counter that. in the US the plan i doubt will b accepted by the ppl. of course it also depends on how fast the AI/robots can b brought online to replace workers. the race between what they want and how fast covid and the viruses spread and cause destruction continues.

We can debate the cause and circumstances, but I think everyone here agrees that the world as we knew it in the 20th century is gone for good, and it's going to continue to unravel at a snail's pace for a few more years.

But you're right; most Americans have their heads in the sand and either don't realize what's coming or are just plain ol' in denial. Personally, I would rather take the pessimistic view and be wrong than be caught unawares.
