It's my personal opinion based on analysis of posts and comments from both the both far-right and far-left. It's no longer just a difference of political ideology; each side actively hates the other and believes violence is required to "save America" from the other side.

This mid-term election will be an early indicator, and the 2024 election will most likely be the final straw. I'm not going to try to predict an exact date because I don't believe in that crap, but I think there will be an incident, initially just another news story, that will end up being the trigger for widespread violence across the country. I don't know what it will be, but it will result in violent protests that will make the summer of 2020 look like a town hall meeting.

What sucks is it will start with political extremists, but will spread to include people who do not think violence is the solution. They will be forced to use violence to defend themselves or perish. Thus, it will become a self-sustaining reaction.

I hope I'm wrong. But I've been watching political extremists on both sides since the rise of the Tea Party, and I've never seen so many people so riled up and actively calling for violence against the opposition. We're not talking about your usual nut cases who are exceptions to the rule; we're talking about otherwise law-abiding, rational people who have become so blinded by the political rhetoric that they have lost their ability for rational thought.

I am honestly very afraid for this country right now. Raffette and I are actually working on a contingency plan to permanently leave the United States if it gets too bad. That's how concerned we are about this.

We've got a couple of years, and maybe something huge will happen that causes people to reunite as Americans, allowing everyone to step back from the edge. But I'm not optimistic.

Actually, that I can prove. My grandmother traced our family history (father's side) all the way back to 16th century Wales.
We are looking into other countries as well. Problem is if you are older, they don't want us! They all want an investment of $700,000 and MORE into the country if you want to relocate there.

I really don't even know where to even begin to look. Everyplace has it's negatives: unstable governments, drug cartels, high crime, zero human rights. Where is there to escape to?

Some European countries are desperate for people. Italy, Spain, and Portugal are all fairly easy to immigrate to. We're looking at Italy.

If you have ancestry there, sometimes you can apply for full citizenship which allows you to go ANYWHERE in the EU. You have to have been descended from an ancestor who didn't get citizenship
