is the stove old? u may want to keep it somewhere.

modern stoves will not work if the power goes out. they have a safety switch that shuts off the gas once the electricity stops. to test, unplug it and check to see if burners will light. best to know this now before u are in the middle of cooking dinner and power goes out. or the middle of JAN. brrrr
