German Bakery Slapped With €330,000 Gas Bill After Contract Canceled

A German bakery was slapped with a €330,000 (US$330,000) gas bill after a new energy company suddenly terminated their contract which guaranteed pricing until the end of 2023, Junge Freiheit reported, citing Bild.

.."A year ago, we paid €5,856 per month in gas costs for our large furnaces and heating," he added.

On out two vacay rental properties, i have the electricity price locked till end of 2023 for one at 10.2 cents per KWH, the other at 12.2 cents per KWH with free weekend, but it expires this December. Unless something miraculous happens with electricity rate, the cost for the new plans are double.

Also just got the gas bill for our primary residence, increase of 20% -- thankful Texas is not northern tier. Also received notice that 1 October electricity rates will go up 10%.

We are too. Our propane prices for heating are locked until next year. Hopefully, things will have settled down by then.
