We've had some close calls like that, too. Thankfully, we haven't gotten crunched yet.

One thing I've noticed is people are truly acting like zombies. They just stare straight ahead and push right through even when there's not a soul in their direction but me! At first, I didn't think too much about it, but it's happening at least once, every time we're out. I think I'm not going to move out of the way next time and see what happens.

I don't know why people are doing this, but they can't be watching where they're going. I wonder if they'll run into me with their cart?

other threads during the night were reporting that major retailers were cancelling huge orders. this ahead of the holiday season.

Same here. People at the grocery shoving their carts around like they are the only person in the store. Something is clearly going on with a large number of people.

Just got back from the dealership -- $9800.00 in damage, and that is assuming they do not find any other damage to the cameras, sensors or exhaust system when they remove the bumper.

Thank God for insurance.

Popped in to see doc yesterday after the accident (not hurt but just wanted to get things on record). They are now asking, in addition to the COVID symptoms, if you have developed any rash.

the Fort Bend school case looked to b spread from 1 student to another. based on the timing that the 2nd case was a cpl weeks after the 1st. didn't find any more news or even SM posts to varify that. was surprised there wasn't an uproar from the community.

we'll know more by end of this month.

If it takes hold, spreading on desk surfaces, papers, lunch tables, etc will be easy.

Hope it does not take hold.

Shouldn't the other driver's insurance be paying for the damage?

Staff had a meeting and discussed it today. Some of the staff members wanted to go to DEFCON 4 immediately. The Director and I want to hold off and see if Russia actually attempts to hold "referendums" and annex the SE region of Ukraine. If they do that and declare that area as sovereign Russian soil and the population as sovereign Russian citizens, then we will probably raise the level.

We are watching this very closely.

By the way, I just purchased the first three 10-foot sections of a 60-foot mast for my planned EOTW antenna array. Technically, it will be closer to 55 feet after the base gets buried in cement, but that's still plenty tall enough! Planning to mount the following devices on it:

1: High Frequency shortwave antenna for global communications
2: Dual-band 2-meter and 70-centimeter antenna for county and state communications
3: Citizen's Band antenna for local communications
4: Multi-band receiver antenna
5: 3 TV antennae, pointed at Indianapolis, Louisville, and Cincinnati
6: 4 wireless remote cameras providing 360-degree coverage of horizon
7: Remote weather station

It will be buried in three to five feet of concrete and anchored 20 feet up at the peak of my barn roof, which means it should pretty much survive any wind gust even without guy wires. Anything strong enough to take down the mast is going be strong enough to take the barn with it.

I plan on getting the first two sections up with just the roof anchors this weekend so I can get it plumb and mark the hole to be dug. I'll get it set in cement before winter hits, add the third section and then let it sit all winter before adding the last three sections and putting a load on it sometime next year.

I'll try to post photos as I go.
