Every once in a while there is a headline that stands out as one of those that future generations will likely have cited in their textbooks. Japan to build new bases near Taiwan as nation prepares for war with ChinaPrime Minister Fumio Kishida's whirlwind tour shores up alliances with US, UK, France and Canada [ link to www.taiwannews.com.tw (secure)] This isn't happening without permission from the US. If they build those bases, it will be with the US's blessing, if not assistance, and China will make a move for Taiwan before the bases are active. As if we don't already have a spark for WW3 in Europe, now we've got another one in SE Asia.
