Just put this in the Covid news thread but needs sharing

Eek

In 2021 the European Union saw
4,070,543 births &
5,303,726 deaths resulting in a natural decline of -1,233,183. 2022 figures will be worse. The number of births in the EU will likely sink to an all time low of below 4M births.

That can be done very quickly, too. I've seen it happen before.

This worries and saddens me at the same time. The inmates are in charge of the looney bin.

This isn't happening without permission from the US. If they build those bases, it will be with the US's blessing, if not assistance, and China will make a move for Taiwan before the bases are active. As if we don't already have a spark for WW3 in Europe, now we've got another one in SE Asia.

Re: Coffee Crowd for Civilized Discourse on World Events
Occasionally, say for Christmas or a birthday, I'll give my son a book or he'll gift me one. Books that one of us found interesting and felt the other would enjoy experiencing. It's not an always thing, neither of us is trying to exert too much control over the other. It's one of the more subtle ways, I believe, that fathers and sons communicate with each other. A quiet demonstration of filial or paternal affection that doesn't require words. Words that might be awkward replaced by actions we're confident won't be.

My son gave me, this Christmas, "Station Eleven" by an author named Emily St. John Mandel. The plot, at the highest level, is about the aftermath of something referred to as "the Georgian (Russian Georgia, not the Atlanta variety) Flu" which is both highly contagious and has an astronomical mortality rate.

I'd categorize it as being as much an elegy as anything else. There's action, there's decent character development, and the narrative switches between "before" and "after" the pandemic.

Interestingly, it was written 2-3 years prior to Covid.

It's what you'd call a 'quality paperback" so the price is only about $16.95 and it runs just under 350 pages in length.

I promise it'll make you think. I promise it'll make you ponder "what happens if there's a variant of Covid that's significantly nastier than what we've experienced so far". I won't go as far as to say everyone who reads it will enjoy it as much as I did, there's too much variety within us to make that overreaching a statement.

I do, however, recommend it.

I think there might be something in the water here! So far I've seen 2 GIANT critters outside. We have a neighborhood red squirrel that steals and eats everything. It seems even Fall decorations need security around this guy. He's figured out how to jump from the tree in the yard onto the birdfeeder. He can't climb up, we have the anti critter bell on the post. He comes every day and lounges on the feeders and eats whatever he wants. My neighbor says he steals pumpkins and hauls them all over, too! We'll be moving the feeder soon.

Another neighbor has the biggest tuxedo tom I think I've ever seen! Mr. TB thought he was a garden statue at first. Thankfully, the dogs all seem to be normal size! LOL

think it is that vaxed are more prone to catch it since their immune systems are damaged.

the wording is wrong but looks like the point is vaxed ppl need to b careful. notice they blame the variant not the vax.

b interesting to watch how things play out in NYC in the next cpl weeks. UK is storing bodies and hospitals are getting overwhelmed. a simple recommendation to wear masks ain't goina help.

RIFF, u ever see the movie "World War Four"? about how many little things add up to cause a nuke war.

the final blow that pushes all out nukes is the inialation of a huge fleet. 70 ships, over 30,000 personell. in 1 shot. just as the fleet is crossing into NK waters, a nuke comes up from the bottom of the ocean not thru the air.

Speaking of war…

More from Downing Street: ‘UK defence and security officials believe a window has opened up where Russia is on the backfoot due to resupply issues and plummeting morale. The PM is therefore encouraging allies to deploy their planned support for 2023 ASAP to have maximum impact.’

I know that's a prevailing theory going around. The thing is, though, I just had a physical back in November and all my blood tests came back normal, including white blood cell count. My wife and I have had a couple of "blah" days where we didn't feel good over the past six months or so, but I can't remember the last time either of us took a sick day off work.

i think there are a lot of differences in the batches of the vax. locally on NY side of the border, ppl who took it have seen cancer growths. have not heard of any issues from PA yet. thing is i'm not out and about talking to lots of ppl. for me to know or seen ppl with cancer growths says there are lots more. add in environmental factors that vary by location, i think u'll see localized health issues. hard to pinpoint the causes that way.

such health issues exist now by location and govern. or corporations always claim there is no proof. truth is usually there is no way to prove it but the trends hold. examples- IBM and Lockheed Martin areas see high cases of diseases compared to others. i believe it is leukemia there. western NY-PA near the oil plants have higher anoerisms or clots. i'm sure u have heard similar stories like Camp Lajune or issues with mining towns.

not all batches were the same. some may have been saline too. i don't think we have any info yet on the boosters. we saw the same type issues with covid itself. how it took a persons own health genetic coding and used it against them. some saw diseases that would affect them much later in life turn on while in their 20's. even the illness and symptoms varied from person to person. it even killed entire family households and other times skip members. not everyone who took a vax will have the same outcomes. there's so many other factors.
