They forgot to add heat dissipation plates between their elements; they overheat (AND there will be MAJOR recall on them soon!). I'm personal friends with a dude that works for DeWalt / Stanley corp. |

Got the mower, straight line trimmer plus some attachments added to that, it’s good stuff. The tools themselves are a fair bit of plastic, but it seems pretty tough I haven’t broken anything in 3 years, and it makes them so much lighter to lift and work with. The cultivator attachment is awesome, great for digging up garden beds fast with very little effort. |

Quoting: Swearbox If you want a nice small one then the Makita makes a 12v barrel grip jigsaw. Just be sure to invest in a larger battery. The batteries that come in the kit are just 2 amp hours. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 70795193 United States 07/21/2022 09:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Festool is probably the best quality out there but they are pricey. I have a cordless angle grinder that is easily the best I've ever used & the drywall screw driver, which is so smooth. Hilti make some very rugged tools but they are mostly enterprise rentals but you can still buy them. Still have an impact i picked up used about 10 years ago and it still works very well & it has been seriously abused lol. IMO Milwaukee is still the king because of their price, durability and variety of trade specialty tools that most other brands lack. Their 12v lineup is excellent for light jobs and DIYers. I use my 12v driver more than any 18 because it is so much lighter and a 6AH battery can run it all day. The 12v rotary works with any Dremel accessory and is a beast. Makita is still a solid brand but not quite as good as when they were made exclusively in Japan. Dewilt I mean Dewalt is junk I'd buy a Rigid or Ryobi over them any day. |

The Ryobi 18V works perfect for all of my homeowner applications. But I totally understand how pros would need to have pro equipment. I also have the Ryobi 40V Expand-it string trimmer which works way better than my Stihl gas string trimmer, and less hassle. What I love about the Expand-it are the additional attachments that I have purchased, including the 10" pole saw, which works great on all of the smaller branches on my trees, and the really thick woody underbrush. I also bought the edger attachment, and after the initial pain of the first edging after 4 years, every month I run that along my driveway and walk, and it takes very little time, and it looks great. |

User ID: 71101799 United States 07/21/2022 10:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I made a small fortune with DeWalt 18 volt tools. The Nicads are much better than the 20 volt lithium stuff. I used them for 25 years, installing fiber and copper in new construction. The 18 volt hammer drill is unbelievable. I core drilled a 4 inch hole through a brick wall with it, once. It took 3 batteries. Drill was hot as fire when I finished. Still have it, still a workhorse. The only tool I don't like in the 18 volt line, by DeWalt, is the angle grinder. Requires too much juice. Batteries can't supply it. I see where the 18 volt tools are discontinued now. Batteries are expensive. I'm retired, now. My 18 volt tools will last me till I die. I still use them, every day, around the house. |

Even 40 years ago... the best miter saw I own is my grandfather's makita with a cast iron base, cuts truer than all of the modern ones by far and I've owned a few.\ The impact gun I have is just as capable as my Dewalts and they've both been through hell and back. The tools that are black & red are still made in the German factory. The tools sold at Lowes are from the Chinese factory in Nanjing. They also make Skil-Saw and the EGO lineups. Also I'm not knocking them for being Chinese owned, quite a few major tool brands are Chinese owned these days including Milwaukee. |

We used go through grinders like crazy when I worked on a 400 unit apartment complex for a couple years. You know what burnt up the most? Dewalt. I seen a guy bring a brand new multi set on the job site and the drill shit on the first day. They are all mostly made in China just pick the flavor. |

The motors are powerful and the battery packs can be taken apart and used to build a large lithium power bank if you collect enough of them. Take this knowledge with you into the apocalypse, friends |
