OP, I'm a delivery driver too (auto parts). I would say noticing is a trait unique to driving. You always have to pay attention, including making eye contact to negotiate right of way, yet it can get lonely.
Paying attention, looking, observing, eliciting consent...is a your stock in trade.
But after a while, when you get good at it, looking, paying attention to every fucking thing (defensive driving) becomes so normal that it becomes second nature. It occurs to me it is possible you are feeling something, and don't realise you are the one communicating to them, and they are just responding. Remember, you are not driving when these things happen. What do you do with your eyes?
I would suggest you go up and say "Hi" sometime, meet the other guys.
