Anonymous Coward User ID: 82874400 United States 07/27/2022 06:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A group of House Democrats introduced a bill on Tuesday to enact term limits for Supreme Court justices, arguing that the move will “restore legitimacy and independence to the nation’s highest court.” The legislation, titled the Supreme Court Tenure Establishment and Retirement Modernization Act, would authorize the president to nominate Supreme Court justices every two years — in the first and third years after a presidential election. The justices who have been on the court the longest will be moved to senior status first. If confirmed by the Senate, those individuals would serve a maximum 18 years on the bench. After their tenures are complete, the Supreme Court justices would retire from active service and assume senior status. More here: [link to thehill.com (secure)] But not for them right? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77376498 United States 07/27/2022 06:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Once again, we shall have to remind the lawless Marxist Democrats, that Article III of the United States Constitution expressly grants life tenure to Supreme Court Justices. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83296224 If they do not like that they can try passing an amendment to the Constitution itself. Otherwise, Congress is a CO-EQUAL branch of our government, with no authority to impose Constitutional changes on the others. I presume this is just a show for their low-info voters. |

Wonder why? Because Clarence Thomas is too based and the dims are losing all their Supreme Court cases. He already shit canned Roe vs Wade and is about to shit can the NFA with the Matt Hoover case. The ATF is about to become the WAT (Weed Alcohol Tobacco) agency. Plus they will most likely lose more major cases down the road. |

This has long indicated that judges, including Supreme Court justices, have lifetime tenure. |
