Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77126272 It has a grand history, treasure it wherever you are, but Ireland is a tourist trap of commies.. [fire hydrants] Theyve almost completely done away with cash. When cash is gone, so goes sovereignty. Miss me with all that barter system or trading gold crap; we're not pilgrims no power company is going to weigh your gold to keep the lights on. |

I know high tax and social welfare. Last I was there my partner and I were in Wicklow mountains and a lady in a Burka nearly ran us off the road. L'oven |

But the country is so fertile and gorgeous. I yearn for nature and beauty. I am a skilled worker and possible could work for one of the tax evaders ...heading to Ireland you've also got EU to find a space. Perhaps France or Italia... L'oven |

Allied Irish Bank decided to make 70 branches cashless, but they got such a load of shit they backed down. The country(side) still beautiful, the people? Well...their politicians! An acquaintance of mine said buh-bye to Colorado and moved to New Zealand in late 2019. She has been livid with her Jacinta and every despot ruling that's happened there. She's lived to regret her terrible move. You think NZ: grassfed beef & lamb, pastures, blue skies, no pollution... except for the politicians. Stay where you are, at least you know where you are! I believe USA will be the last to fall. See Sri Lanka and now Holland? The countries around us they need to take first before USA crumbles. It's all an experiment! |

My wife grew up there, and we have family and friends there, but it's not the place it was 10 years ago. There was a time when I would have happily moved to Scotland, the toughest decision being whether to live in Fife, or on the other coast, in Portree on Skye. But, no longer. I'm not sure about Skye, but as for Fife, it's vaxtards, everywhere. Last Edited by IAMTHATGUY on 07/28/2022 10:38 AM "Peace in our time? Today's Ireland policy limits folks to somewhat recent immigration abroad. Parent or grandparent (under some circumstances). I think if they would like to improve the population and enrich their societies, they should allow Americans with ancestry to that country the ability to move there should they want to. OK right now, things are in shambles because they are improving population by letting fleeing foreigners in. Why not instead entice people of the US who are educated and have more in common with the country's culture to move there instead? They would instantly become richer for it. |

Wonderful people but even more so than in America, most believe everything they hear on the telly. And they throw their trash on the ground everywhere. If you appreciate what people do to keep the San Diego beaches clean, you'll most likely be amazed at what the Irish have done to their once beautiful island. Plus you have to love being cold and wet. And the very short daylight hours in the winter months. |

We pick up trash on the beach here ..mostly plastic and now masks lol..funny not funny. you always see what is trending. No more fishing line on our beach though due to the reserve status where I live = no fishing. Speaking of fishing, sad about the super trawler.. scooping all Irelands fish and the government allowing the fishing rights relinquished.. As well, housing for native Irish has become challenging i hear. Its like how it is in California it sounds like. L'oven |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78121322 United States 07/28/2022 09:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am American and I have the permission to move to Ireland by way of my relations. I love Ireland and consistently daydream of setting up a life there ...Is it safer and more wholesome?... or in So Cal where I was born and raised...Mad Max might be ruling so cal soon, so I am wondering. Goal - peace, usefulness and community is easier found in Ireland. Quoting: L'oven In So Cal I have a huge back yard and couple blocks to beach for fishing. I could house others in my yard during a depression, etc. I've been to the wee Island about half dozen times and to me feels like home from my first visit in 1997. West coast is my favorite place in Ireland and it was odd seeing so much blight last time I visited in some island towns, shuttered pubs, etc.. Weather is tricky. Stinging ice shard- flurries stinging aching bones, the smell of burning bog tho, expensive petrol by the liter, driving in a VW peanut ... on the other side of road - all are fine by me. I like the BBC news too. Monotone unsensational news reporting. I enjoy that Irish people see me exotic, plus there is America in Dublin in terms of customs. I'm 70% Scandinavian. 30% Italian. My family has been in the USA since the 1700's. I don't want to live in Italy, Sweden, the UK, Germany...or any other nation. This is my nation and my home. The people trying to turn America into a communist nation need to go. |
