Why Do Men Joke About Marriage???

Before a man marries a woman he should be aware of how fit her mother is, there's nothing worse than being stuck in a marriage with a naggy fat load.

If you want to have a stress free life. Do not get married. End of discussion.

We don't know them or her so she asks us .

I do...the answers I get after they've asked me 3-4 times as an aside in a convo: they want a companion, they love me, they "eventually" want to marry, etc etc. So, it's like a joke, not serious. One constantly negotiated buying half of my assets, wtf.

Men offer little to nothing but make constant demands.

You will end up alone regardless how you play it, so live your life and stop worrying about it.

There are 3 rings in marriage.

The engagement ring
The wedding ring
then comes the Suffering.

Young people fall in love and get married.

If you missed that train, it's not going to be the same for you. When two older people decide to get together it's more of a business negotiation.

Men joke about doom and death, too.

When doom is imminent, gallows humor is the last laugh.

I joke about it now, considering how much my wife wanted to "get married", but she put a lot more effort into getting divorced.

There are many women who think marriage means they can always have everything they want, exactly the way they want, and change their mind as often as they want.

That's extended childhood indulgence, not marriage.

I'd rather women take some responsibility but I don't see that happening until humanity reverts back to scratching in the dirt for subsistence.

We joke about thing we want but are not self assured to ask for.

Next time, say straight out, marriage is no joke to you.

Lay out the law.

Lay out the benefits. If you want him to ask you tell him how happy your future husband will be how well treated...



Tell him if marriage is a major event and really to serious for you to be a joke about for you right now.

Good luck, take a chance, I have made a lot of mistakes. I regret few actions I took. I regret the actions I did not take far more.

Because women need marriage more than men. It goes against many of our base instincts (though also aligns with many) and it’s basically a low key prison sentence.

But we love our families so we stay. It’d be a lot easier and more convenient to continually drop our loads and knock women up and leave, but we’re bound by honor and love to stay, plus, look at cultures where dads leaving/non existent is common. Those cultures are of the lowest quality and produce the lowest quality citizens.

Not all of us were looking to replace "mommy".

I know that you are honest about your relationship. I don't know if a first marriage is based upon psychological knowledge. But @ times the "daddy issues" was used to describe a young woman with an older man. Few sociological efforts have been made to down trod the uncertain or frivolous male. I'm not here to do that, honestly.

Perhaps the lack of effort to be honest about intent is confusing for me.

three guys were playing their usual Saturday round of golf,
