The number of people on planet earth has well over doubled from about 3 billion to about 7.7 billion,
in my lifetime.... I am 62 years old.
When my 94 year old mother was born, there were only 2 billion people walking the planet.
Exponential growth on a finite planet is only ever going to end badly, even if a managed slow-down and finally a decrease.
How is a much smaller number of youngsters going to look after the huge bubble of elderly - likely to be my (and Bill G) generation, without mandatory euthanasia when infirm.
Even trying to stay at the same number about 8 billion the problem is the same. Which youngsters are going to be prepared to look after elderly and who pays.
The only good thing is houses should eventually become much cheaper - though run-down because there's no one with any time to fix them up.
Long crematoria, grave diggers and Soylent Green factories.
