met my first tiger bee fly

Thought it was a deer fly at first. It's been hanging around my deck. Very friendly fellow that was content to just hang out. It even came and sat on my finger for a few seconds until I got nervous.

So I looked it up and it preys on carpenter bees, which we have in spades.

So if you see one don't kill it, it doesn't bite or sting. It's also an important pollinator.

First time seeing one in Ohio. Nature always surprises me.

How many animals have 3 names? That's pretty cool in itself.
