Someone explain to me, seriously, how a bigger, better trained and armed war force (Russia) has not completely conquered the small regions they have been attacking and invading for months?

I just read they are hitting villages with like 7,000 rounds of artillery in a matter of hours on military strong holds/fortifications

Their losses are just astronomical at this point

I know you guys think this thing is almost over

but it isn't Nato and the UN is going to get involved.

Cause they are in and around the general population that wants Russia there.

Ukraine has way more soldiers

They don't have more soldiers. It's an attrition war. Russia needs to save political face. Both sides call it the "Donbass Meat Grinder". Ukraine is throwing guys in there with little training and getting slaughtered. It is much like a logger coming upon a bunch of already felled trees. You have to process all those trees before moving on.

MOTIVATION. The Ukrainians are defending their homeland fiercely and most of the kids in the Russian army don't even want to be there.

8 years of preparation, concrete defensive positions, trenches everywhere. Once Russia gets past these defensive positions it’s going to be a worse blood bath than it already has been.

If the US/NATO starts giving Ukraine 1990s era fighter jets, then it is all over for the Judo Midget. As it is right now trained Ukrainians are re-entering Ukraine with NATO artillery. The Moscow midget can't maintain air superiority now and once real fighter jets start picking off Russian squads it will look like the highway going into Kiev at the start of the war. A bunch of twisted Russian iron.

this. Also Ukraine isnt thaaaat small compared to Russia, 44 mil vs Russias 144 million population. USA pop 330 million Afghanistan 39 million for comparison. They both mostly use the same ex soviet equipment. Russia has modernized stuff, Ukraines got some west tech. Ukraine had 8 years to build defensive positions. Ukraine has fully mobilized and are conscripting everything on two feet. Russia is using the same standing army it began with.

This isnt USA vs some guys in sandals in the desert, this is two well prepped European armies. Russia isnt rushing into those well fortified positions, they are being methodical. Ukraine's got meat for the grinder, unless Russia wants to declare war and conscript they gotta be more careful with how they expend their troops.

Russia could have shock and awed Ukraine like we do brown folks on the other side of the planet but this is their slavic next door neighbors they hope to want to rule over and have to live next door to....

I am 1/2 Ukrainian. My grandparents were pretty clear that we consider ourselves to be "Russian/Ukranian." That country has been though A LOT of trauma. I wish all Of this - would STOP.

Russia is taking their time and only committing heavy artillery unless it’s mop up operations to clear a town. Also Putin knows that the longer this drags out it will cause huge financial losses worldwide, especially in the U.S. the entire true reason for the invasion is actually to stabilize the Donbas region that has continuously been destroyed by the Ukraines AZOV battalion since 2015 in their attempt to rid the area of ethnic Russians that are Ukrainian citizens. Other words Putin just got fed up with the outright murder that has been going on for years. Remember it’s public fact that Zelensky was a installed puppet of the U.S.
