It it a natural right to defend your self. The gubbermint might persecute you and violate your right, but it is still your right.

The shop owner was not physically threaten. He certainly did not have to stab him multiple times till he was dead. Its just wrong

It literally sounded like a 14 year old white kid. You could tell by the voice it wasn't some hardened black criminal and they were unarmed. So many blood thirsty people on this forum.

Morally justified, but the law will come down hard on shopkeeper. From an “aggression” standpoint, the shopkeeper struck the thief first, and with lethal force at that.

If our laws simply recognized this jackass trespassed and was clearly taking advantage of the shopkeepers wellbeing, and even safety, then robbery wouldn’t be so prevalent.

I have no pity for hoodlums who think they are entitled to just snatch and grab for a living.

I completely support the shop owners.

That POS was "dead" long before he attempted to harm others.

How is someone going to know if a person is a "hardened criminal" or not? How is that guy supposed to know he didn't have a weapon on him and was going to use it the first chance he got?

That dumbass forfeited his life the second he jumped over that counter. He was in the process of committing a felony and because of that Castle Doctrine immediately went into effect.

Like many of you I'm shocked the store owner was unarmed and running a convenience store in Nevada. It's a miracle he's alive. He did what he had to do.

If i stole a candy bar as a child, i would be more afraid of what my dad would do to me than being stabbed by store owner.

The store owner reasonably feared for his life. With his back against the wall, he faced off a charging thug violently forcing its way past the only barrier protecting him. If weren't for his quick reaction, he could've been the victim in the next head stomping video.

Depends what the thief is stealing, if it's basic food to survive then stabbing or shooting them over it would be pretty shitty in my opinion.

If it's high value stuff or cigarettes and booze then frankly they're asking for it.

If they broke in after hours and got caught on security camera, they would have just been charged and they could deal with that.

He deserves the same sentence as whatever Paul Pelosi gets for his second DUI with injury plus five years. IOW, a five year sentence.

Go and jump over the counter at the Police Station and see what happens.

Store owner doesn't have the luxury to hire an anthropologist to research out the thug's cultural background while being charged.

1. do you personally have a problem with what happened, and

2. was what happened legal?

Most of you don't seem to have any problem with what the store owner did and that's fine.

But then you jump into your internet lawyer shoes spouting off all sorts of pseudo legal nonsense.

Listen, killing someone robbing your store is a risky legal proposition if they didn't pull a gun or knife on you. We've seen plenty of videos in CA where the robbers don't have weapons.

Even if it's justified you could spend hundreds of thousands in legal bills to save a thousand dollars in merchandise.

Your store is not your home in most states. You cannot defend property with lethal force in most states.

I strongly suggest you take a self defense class in your state.

If you are, stop robbing stores.

When you are in an adrenaline rush defending your life there is no way in most cases you could asses deadly force. He could have stoped before the last stab in the neck, but his adrenaline is so high at that point he can't really assess that, he's in a semi trance. This has been shown over and over in court cases. He isn't killing him out of malice. Any Judge that would hold him responsible for that is a nutbag.
