he was fkn defending property and not himself. The guy never made one move towards him or threatened him.

Maybe he has been robbed and threatened before so this time he was ready. He felt his life was in danger. He did what he thought he had to do. THEIR actions caused the shop owner to react to them in a split second. Had they not tried to rob the place the thief would still be alive. Once the thief came behind the counter, anything goes. Thats like saying " when you cut me off in traffic anything goes ... " Is that the best you can come up with,cutting off someone in traffic? What about carjacking, which is more on par with this incident? 3 against one and the guy isn't allowed to defend himself? He didn't know what the crook that jumped the counter was going to do to him, and there were 2 more crooks in the store. Too bad he didn't have a gun to defend himself.
