This doesn't sit well with me either. They did NOT threaten the store owner, and did not deserve to die. I hope the store owner does get prosecuted.
I would have felt differently if the store owner's life was endangered, but it was not. And I think the courts will see it this way also.
Basically, the Asian dude took a man's life over what probably amounted to something worth a few bucks, sad, just very sad.
