Makes 2003 l110 run like new 1. “You can’t fire a cannon, from a canoe!” 2. “Strength is gained in the range it is trained.” 3. “If it doesn’t swim, run, or fly, or isn’t green and grow in the ground, don’t eat it.” 4. “Know that you have complete control over what you put in your mouth. Happened to me once. Some of those small engine mower dudes aren't real trustworthy. Honestly you are probably better off buying one of those cheap pushmowers from walmart. |

You'll spend more money/time trying to get that POS to run than buying a new one. [link to www.walmart.com (secure)] Your best option is to put the one you just bought on Marketplace for half the price you paid saying ran when I bought it. As is. Then put the money into a new one like I posted. |

There was no "as is" in the listing Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83714780 You should have asked to see it actually mowing grass before buying.....but if it started on the first pull and looked clean/new, its probably something simple....check the plug for fouling, replace the gas, check air filter, and clean the carb......that's where I'd start... |

Its ALWAYS the carb Take it off, spray down the carb with carb cleaner after thanking out the needle. Put it back together. Sounds like a needle issue from your description. Depending on the carb it may be cheaper to get a new carb than a new needle if cleaning doesn't work Once you do - DRAIN THE GAS and the CARB before you put it away in the fall. It will then start right up come spring |

There was no "as is" in the listing Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83714780 If you want to avoid this, buy honda engines. I have a small 5 ac homestead and this means a shit ton of small engines. Wish it weren't the case but often the PTO stuff isn't economical for my size operation. The Honda engines ( or Stihl) don't give me trouble . Techumseh etc - all f'ig cause me heartbreak each time I take em out of storage unless I just completely empty them before .. Learning to do your own small engine maintenance - by which I mostly mean - cleaning carbs - will keep your crap running years longer that it otherwise would. You don't even need to "rebuild" the carb. Usually just pulling it off, spraying carb cleaner everywhere and cleaning out the needle and seat will fix most crap. Also make sure your float is not leaking.. Remember its one of three things - spark, air or fuel. And running for a while and dying is almost always fuel.. there could also be some crap in the gas tank being pulled against the intake filter. Last Edited by Weisshaupt on 08/05/2022 06:42 PM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 82301977 ![]() 08/05/2022 06:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, there could be a number of shit wrong with that POS. Do you really want to spend all fucking weekend and possibly next trying to fix that pile of shit? Been there done that. If it's got a choke on the carb you can try and run it fully open. Sometimes that will work. I will never buy another used pushmower from anyone ever again. It always runs when they show it then it turns into a giant piece of shit when you get it home. Those cheap ones they sell now aren't bad and you can take care of it from the start. It will run for many years if you follow the directions on maintenance. |
