You ever tried to fix one that has an unknown problem? Could be as simple as the gas or it could be a blown stator. As a matter of fact...yes. The key is to be patient, watch some YT videos if you have to and have some tools. I've been working on small engines since your momma popped your mouth off her titty. More than half the time it ain't worth it with some POS pushmower. That was before Bidenflation. Now a cheap Lowes pitchfork costs f**king $60...before tax. I don't weld, so I just fixed my same model that cost $24 with some mending plates and it works good enough for mulch. I posted the links to Walmart. They have mowers on sale right now free shipping. Like 100 bucks off. I've been seeing a lot of sales lately to be honest. I think most of the inflation was companies trying to recover costs the took during covid and not real inflation. Just greedy fucks. Turns out people just stopped buying shit at those prices. So now they are going back down. |

Let it run rich - EPA got all stupid about lawn mower "emissions". Who cares - it's a lawn mower. Make sure the airflow is clear and possibly advance the spark a bit. Start it with a cordless drill so you don't knock yourself out with the stupid recoil starters. |

Then find the one that just fits and open it to the next size drill. It doesn't seem like much but it's plenty believe me. The mower will love it. |

If I could do it at 11, surely an adult can figure it out. It aint about figuring it out. It's about wasting more money on a piece of shit motor. When you can buy a new one for about the price and time of fucking around with it. |

Its ALWAYS the carb Take it off, spray down the carb with carb cleaner after thanking out the needle. Put it back together. Sounds like a needle issue from your description. Depending on the carb it may be cheaper to get a new carb than a new needle if cleaning doesn't work Once you do - DRAIN THE GAS and the CARB before you put it away in the fall. It will then start right up come spring Or it could be as simple as corrosion on the spark plugs wire or it's slightly disconnected but the boot appears to be on. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83719260 United States 08/09/2022 06:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lawn mowers {and other small engine yard equipment) are engineered to stop working, manufactured obsolescence, but it's different because they know when the owner would be the most unhappy for it to stop working. It's just another way the system is designed to condition us into being bitter, desperate humans when all we're trying to do is keep our yards neat and there's no reason said equipment should stop working, other than to force you to upgrade and hold a resentment. I'm currently working through a resentment with a lawnmower i bought used in great condition that worked when i bought it and out of the shop after a total of like 3 total "mow jobs". Your options are: 1.Spiral 2. Claim your newly earned victim status and develop your identity around it. 3. Sell it to someone saying it works it just needs gas, and discount them $10 so they can fill it up on the way home or buy a gas can. In other words, screw someone else over. 4. Bust that bitch into a million pieces 5. Work towards it getting fixed, so calling the seller, looking it up online, troubleshoot it and try to fix it yourself, and if not take it into Ace hardware, and if it's worth the fix, have them fix it, if not, buy another one. a push mower works great, hard to break and small enough lawns are done quite easily, no motor, no nothing but some rolling blades. In other words, you weren't forced to buy it and if you already tried to get your money back, then don't expect to get any help from the seller. grab your sack and accept that you either got scammed or you didn't and were a dick to tell him you want your money back but either way, you need to own it. And if you need to figure out your options by coming on here, you have no options. You lost money. and need a lawn mower. your title isn't "Marketplace sold me a broken lawn mower and told me it wasn't but held a gun to my head"... it is "I BOUGHT A PIECE OF SHIT LAWN MOWER ON MARKETPLACE. Figure it out . |

There was no "as is" in the listing Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83714780 You should have asked to see it actually mowing grass before buying.....but if it started on the first pull and looked clean/new, its probably something simple....check the plug for fouling, replace the gas, check air filter, and clean the carb......that's where I'd start... best advice yet...CLEAN IT. something is dirty and fouled up somewhere so clean that carb~ |
