Pascals wager sums up this predicament. If you study the Bible and follow Gods Commandments, you will believe when you see God in your life and all around you. Many of our laws mimic the 10 commandments because even heathens agree you don't want your neighbors stealing, killing, telling lies, etc. Life is better without those things. If you live this life, then you risk nothing at death and it cost you nothing during life. You lived your reward if there is no God and you win the eternal lottery if there is.

On the other hand, you could dismiss the Bible and live like Hunter and Hillary. I don't know about Kuru disease but certainly hunter has documented that the effects of crack and STDs is not living the dream. It costs a fortune and risks it all if there is a day of judgement.
