Someone mentioned this yesterday here. But I don't feel like doing Capcha puzzles to find the thread.

Anyway, At first I thought, wow, 100,000 troops would be a big deal. But then wondered if they would have much impact.

I assume they speak uh, Korean. So how is that going to work?
And if you are fighting with rifles and sabers, more men is better. But in artillery duals? Just more meat that gets blown up by artillery and such fired from 20 miles away.

I suppose they would be helpful in picking up those petal mines. And maybe as foot soldiers to accompany tank assaults to counter the men hiding in trenches with antitank weapons.

And I supppose they might be helpful handing out supplies to civilians, clearing rubble, helping to rebuild, to a point.

But the language barrier would mean they would need a LOT of interpreters. I wonder how many of those even exist?

What do you think? Is it worth it?

Russia has almost no actual infantry. Plenty of armor and artillery, but no infantry. That's why they can't take advantage of any gains they make, why they are barely taking ground.

A typical Russian offensive in this war involves them unleashing a monstrous artillery barrage on Ukrainian defensive lines, then sending forward a company or two of tanks and APCs without dismounted infantry support. The second they meet any resistance, they withdraw back to their own lines.

Rinse and repeat, for weeks on end.

I wonder how many North Koreans would view it as an opportunity to defect and just disappear?

Many years ago, I sold a plant that was installed in China. So we brought about 30 Chinese over to the US for training to O&M the facility.

The next morning, they were all gone! Vanished like smoke.

This is scary stuff. It is the widening of the war that Henry Kissenger warned about, that would be happening about now.

Entry of China, N Korea, would likely drag some Europeean countries into the fray, as they might not want China or N Korea for a new neighbor.

Could be the beginning of a real world war.

You do raise a good point.
Armored assaults require ground support troops to be effective. Otherwise, the opposition will emerge from foxholes and nail them with Javelins.

Not saying Russia doesn't have ground troops, but they aren't using them to support their armor, which is kind of essential if you want to keep your armor for more than 5 minutes.

What can one say on such delusional opinions?

Russia is using like 10 percent of their forces, Infantry are local Russians from Ukraine and Chechens and they already took and keep territory larger than Victoria State in Australia, or like complete United Kingdom and are closing in on their main objective of taking that whole chunk of land out of Ukraine hands.

COuld be important as Russia moves West. So far though, the people they have liberated have been overjoyed to be a part of Russia once more.

But in the West, they are a different population and would be a pain for Russia to control, if they even want any of that territory in the first place.

Russia is achieving its objectives and has made a few decent troll efforts, but the PR war has been dominated by the Western media control and suppression of dissenting opinions. Certainly the sanctions backfiring is a major win on the Russian side. And when Putin mentions it in passing, it is a pretty excellent burn.

Not sure if you have watched much of my daily update videos.
There have been at least 100 interviews with the liberated citizens in Mariupol and in the Donbass. To a person, they have complained bitterly about the Ukraine troops not giving them food or water, of using them as hostages/shields and threatening to shoot them if they tried to leave the area.

They are happy to rejoin Russia, they kiss the Russian soldiers, They are happy to have food to eat, running water, and some measure of order restored to their lives.

They immediately cue up to get their Russian Passports.

If you are really interested, go back and look at the last 30 days worth of daily video threads.

Even the injured Ukraine POWs are happy to be in a Russian medical facility.

That Zelensky offense was squashed before it began.

Zelensky is just trying to hold on now. His military is refusing to fight all over the place.

Lots of videos of them collected as a unit and complaining that they were ill equipped, not even given maps, and left on their own as the leaders left the scene. Then the troops either leave as well, or get captured, because they don't know where they are going without maps.

Miss North Carolina reminded us all of the importance of maps. :)
