^This. The whole micro-brewery thing is over IPAs and I don't get it. It is like drinking paste.

Before this movement, American Beer were Lager style beers and the whole country was filled with amazing breweries. Being from the East Coast...I was more familiar with Rheingold and Schaefer ...but every town had their own good local beer.

Then by the 70's Beer had become a giant oligopoly industry. All the good brews gave way to these sugary weak lagers, and then even worse..the lite beer stuff. watery and sugary.

So the kick back were the microbrews.

As a connoisseur of lagers i lean toward the German/Czech lagers being somewhat lighter and crisper than Belgian style.

For non-microbrew style Americans, I think the only one left with anybody Yuengling Traditional Lager. Sam Adams tries but has too many different micro-brew style versions.

I don't think the Yuengling is as good as European beers, but for an everyday low cost, I lean toward it.

Tecate from Mexico was started by German immigrants, and they have Lager style, it is my preference over any other Mexcican beers.

Inbev owns Budweiser and just about all the big breweries now. Summertime I like Corona which is owned by Budweiser and I like Miller genuine draft for something light but it can get hard to find

I can't drink any Budweiser product. Something in the way they make it makes me sick with the freaking headache

The Coors beers work for me. On the lighter side I like Coors light. I can drink a lot and I don't get sick. If I want something with a little more body to it I drink the Coors banquet

How about a beer that is above 4% alcohol, that doesn't cost $8 a pint and doesn't have a metallic copper after taste that lasts more than a minute which finishes clean? I am sick of this wort water crap that doesn't produce joyful warm rosy cheeks. Beer is being ruined with the alcohol tax, fight back.

There are some flavored stouts that are special, like black cherry.
