POLL: IS IT RUDE to MOW YOUR LAWN ON SUNDAYS IF YOU HAVE CLOSE NEIGHBORS?

In our little south Texas town, we have a rule that people should wait until 10am any day, especially on Sundays.
That's the rule for the ordinary citizen.

Now, if the city has a broken water main or something they need to use heavy equipment for or any other legit business where the work desperately needs to be done then companies can start earlier if it can't be helped.
The exception is a lawn/landscape company, they must wait or risk being fined.

We used to have a deaf asian guy that would fire up his gas weed eater at the crack of dawn right under people's bedroom windows. He couldn't even hear how much noise he made but luckily he died.

The fines for noise disturbances start at $600 and go higher the more times they get a ticket.
One bass player got ticketed 3 times, he always played too loud and was usually drunk at all hours, finally, he couldn't pay his rent from the noise fines. He's gone now too! Prison actually for murder.

This fine also goes for, music or any other loud noise that can be heard in the streets beyond their property.

We have two parks where churches would have services in the open air and they even got a ticket once for having their preaching blasting across neighborhoods.

This town is far from perfect but it is so quiet here, I love it!

I live rural.

We have people running dirt bikes past the place all day long. People target shooting, dogs barking, chainsaws going, hammers, drills, etc...

If I had any complaint at all, it would be due to the dust coming off the county road from all the traffic. Other than that.....I could care less what other people do on any given day of the week.

I know a lot of people from California are moving here where I live. They want to tell everyone how to live and what bothers them. They put messages on the neighborhood apps telling people not to put their trash out after a certain time because it bothers them. They can hear you are rolling your bins to the street and they don't do that in the former communist shithole that they left because their actions destroyed the place and made it unliveable.

They say something to me I tell them to f themselves and if they have a problem with that to call the police or better yet come over to the house and we'll settle it. Then I say or you can go back to the state people like you destroyed. I won't mince words with liberals.

Maybe you should move back to your liberal mecca. Sounds like life in the stix isn't for you.

Do what you want, as long as it's legal... and stop caring what others think... People that are unhappy with their shitty existence, look to control others, and drag you down to their mental illness...

Noise bother some people more. I would like strangle my neighbors,beat them both in the stomach until they puke, smash their heads with bricks, send them through a wood chipper, burn the remains, send the remains to the moon on Elon's rocket.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

There's heavy machinery in the former farm behind us. They are grading the land so they can build more homes for people from California and New York who destroyed their states and now are abandoning them to swarm to Red states and degrade and destroy them. They are out there every morning heavy machinery stomping the earth and growling. Should I go tell them to stop? Is that rude?

Mowtards is a serious contagion. At the the first light of Sunday morning. The Leader wields his beloved tool, the mower, mowing his 1000 square ft lot repeatedly, what seems like hours. Waking the dead and seriously fucking up hangovers for miles around. These distinct sounds send the clarion call to the other neighborhood mowtards, They cant resist. The mowing will continue until further notice. All you can do is make Bloody Marys or in the legendary words of Jim Morrison....Wake up this morning and grab yourself a beer....it eases the pain.

Have a neighbor who rides his loud motorcycle to work at 6 in the morning and revs up the engine in his driveway before he leaves full throttle past our house.

Lots of elderly folks and families live on our street.

What can you do I guess.

I have to mow on Sunday barring rain I work 6 days a week 12-18 hiurs a day my only day off is Sunday. I wait until 10am and after someone else starts

. I hate mowing afternoon it’s too hot and evenings it’s cooler but people are bbqing or trying to relax
‘Y asshole neighbors mows at 7am three days a week he is retired and bored . I work until 4am this ahole wakes me up everytime . He starts right next to my house too !

I have asked nicely he says the law is 7 and starts at 7 9’ the dot it doesn’t even need it. I now when it needs it this summer I have mowed every 10-14 days until last week w went almost a month without rain .

Idk what else I can do really .

I feel guilty mowing at 10am but I got a warning in June waiting for a sort for my mower my grad was 9 inches tall in one little spot .

So I wait till someone else mows I finish before they do as well I mow fast . I rigged my mower with a super quite muffler too .

I haven’t had any complaints .

This asshole behind me sucks . His grass is never more than 3 inches high and he is mowing it
Mi set my mower for 4” when I am done . I don’t like shirt grade .

When I worked 40 hiurs a week I mowed Saturdays at 10am .
Now it’s Sunday at 10am

One Saturday in June I mowed at 7:30pm it was cool that night it got dark at 8:37 and I finished in 1 hiur . Don’t like mowing that Kate other than it’s not as hot.

I just don’t think it is cool to mow before 9am any day of the week . Today I mowed at 3pm in the heat of the day it sucked !

Starting next week I am taking wednesdays off I’ll mow at 10am on wed for the rest of the year

A lot of people Sunday is their only day off during the week. I don't mind myself, but I know some people do not want to hear a lawn mower on their only day off to rest. So, really you should get to know your close by neighbor's.

People in rural South Dakota take the quiet, restful Sunday thing a lot more seriously than anywhere else I've lived.

Everything is closed except for big chain stores. There's way less traffic, and I didn't even think about it until this thread, but yeah not many people mow.

I wouldn't care if they did, but the natives might.

If you live in a desert and have a desert landscape yard, I'm wondering where the debris is coming from since desert plants don't really lose their leaves. I also wonder why live in a desert since water is scarce.

If you don't live in a desert and have a desert landscape, why are you trying to make a desert? I know zeroscapes are 'easy' to take care of but clearly not that easy if you have to keep them free of debris.

The whole lawn thing kinda always has seemed retarded to me. They are so artificial and energy intensive. Spray chemicals all over the place and let your kids play in it, burn shitloads of gas taking care of it, people get upset if your lawn doesn't look as good as theirs and send the code enforcer, people get upset if you yard looks better than theirs and treat you shitty. Whole thing just seems shitty to me. Guess that's why I live in the woods, no lawn, no retarded hoa or neighbors.

The fact is obvious that most respondents didn't grow up going to Church. Explains today's world.
