I'm totally against forcing masks, but also think that if a business wants to have that policy they have the right to do so.

I don't see the big deal if a shop owner or even supermarket corporation asks people to wear a mask as a condition to enter their privately owned premisses. People can go elsewhere.

Those who think they are exempt to such requirement need to offer their case in a reasoned way.

Masks may make very little difference to the spread of disease; but the option of doing nothing at all is worse.

Masks are a method of concentrating people's mind on the idea of keeping a distance, which is the most effective method of preventing spread.

As for many of the other restrictions and mandates they were obviously over-reactions. Washing hands, avoiding touching eyes and coughing into the elbow was also a good idea.
