Notice the media is slow to even report the numbers now and even when they do they try to couch it as being "less than expected", as if we are supposed to be relieved.

[link to www.cnbc.com (secure)]

But as anyone knows who has gone to a grocery store or even a fast food restaurant prices are CONTINUING TO RISE and there is no end in sight. Utility costs, used cars, very few can even afford a new car now.

BUT WAIT: Democrats just passed the "Inflation Relief Act"....everything is fixed now...who knew all we had to do was for our government to spend even more money! We can all relax now.....

Everything must be great because all the news hosts are constantly smiling and giggling all the time when talking about the economy as opposed to when Trump was president they constantly had stern gloomy serious glares.

This was the Dems goal.

Raise the fuel, make inflation higher, blame Russia and Ukraine.

Then tell the oil producers to "lower prices" and inflation will follow.

Magically, the price of gasoline has dropped significantly which helps lower inflation to a degree.

Biden then says "See my polices are working!"

Ole bait and switch and the idiot Libs fall for it.

They didn't rise 8.5% this month.

They rose at an 8.5% pace this month.

That means they actually rose at 0.71% this month.

At least it's going down. Oil is now below $90 a barrel. Wasn't that long ago the doomers were saying it will be $300 soon. On the farm, diesel fuel is down almost a buck from the high.
So my advice is if you think prices are still to high, which they are, cut back on your living expenses and live within your means for now.

It means inflation is up 8.5% year over year.

Simply stated is that prices are up 8.5% over the same month a year ago. Inflation was already kicking in a year ago, this means it is up another 8.5% from where we were inflating a year ago.

So, if this time next year, inflation is 4%, that does not mean things are great, it means that the rate is slowing, but prices are still rising rapidly.

What's your point? Every country on the planet is dealing with high inflation.. if it were something specific to the US you would have a case.

The fuck up already happened. We are merely paying for it now.

In 2020 when people worldwide were asked to stay home for a year and their respective governments printed money out of thin air for them to do so...that's causing this. That was the fuck up. The fiat is already in on circulation.

It is NOT going down.

It means the pace of acceleration may have slowed marginally.

The PPI is up significantly. Those increase take 60-90 days to hit the CPI.

I like high inflation because I buy everything on credit.

Take my house. I paid 100k on it 10 years ago. Since then it's interest rate has been lower than my increase in wage each year. So I'm good.
