Said another way, the J6 hearings are the equivalent of a criminal trial in which the prosecutor presents a case against the defendant for the entire trial, the judge allows all evidence/hearsay/rumors/suggestions/witnesses etc. that supports the prosecutions case but doesn't allow any evidence/hearsay/rumors/suggestions/witnesses etc. that might show the defendants innocence. There is no defense present during the hearing to even argue on the defendants behalf.
