If it feels heavy, don't water it at all until the whole thing feels rather light. :DOCSRBAFFLED::redblueLED::DONTBEAPANDEMICS: Only you can stop the fake pandemic for yourself, no one will ever tell you the pandemic is over. I have people Trace Minerals. I will look for it. Mix 1/2 cup peroxide with 1/2 cup water and pour over plant. If it’s root rot it will kill the fungus and perk it right up. Quoting: TBJ1026 Is it actually wilting? Wilting typically means too little water/too much heat. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83782599 It probably has too much heat: we're having a heat wave and it's behind the glass (window) but I looked it up for cockscomb and it says it needs a lot of heat and little water. I'm in desert climate. OP - lift the whole plant up with both hands. If it feels heavy, don't water it at all until the whole thing feels rather light. Quoting: Butch DeFeo You mean lift it up FROM the pot? (It's a plastic pot). It's not heavy it's light. It's very small. Thank you all. Please feel free to clarify/add on. |

It's orange Is it actually wilting? Wilting typically means too little water/too much heat. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83782599 Some green leaves are mushy and one turned yellow and wilted. The others are ok. Am I frying it on the window sill? |

Sorry but my phone came with too much bloatware already! I can't even delete the FB (facetard!) If I start DL apps , I won't be able to sustain the mandatory phone system upgrades. How many drain holes are in your pot? They say you can grow Cock's Comb as an indoor plant but it's really more of an outside plant. Quoting: Plant Goddess Take your plant out of the pot, rinse dirt out of roots with distilled water. Cut away rotted parts of roots and re-plant in well draining soil in a pot with good drainage. Good luck! Drain holes? Dunno. Maybe I should give it to someone or plant it out somewhere in nature? Can't take it out of the pot: too messy & I only have 1 sink. Too much work plus I am scared of finding any bugs inside! And can't invest in buying pots and the like right now. Sorry! But thanks for the advice. If there's any advice insofar as watering or not, sun or not, that sorta thing, that's what I was looking for. I'm not a plant person, I just want minimal contact with it. Stay there and look pretty, but I don't wanna touch it, like men! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 18376622 United States 08/10/2022 10:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Celosia are low maintenance plants that do best in garden beds rather than containers. Celosia prefer full sun and well-drained soil. If your pot doesn't have drain holes, the plant will drown. Full sun=6hours or more. If you can, examine the bottom of the pot. No holes? Then make some or transplant the flower to one that does. You must do this or you will most likely lose your plant. Stop watering. The soil should completely dry out between watering. -I work at a garden center- I help black thumbs on a daily basis. Good luck and don't stop be leafing. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83997595 United States 08/10/2022 11:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Put the plant in the sink and just water it really good. The water will come out of the bottom of the pot. Keep it there until it stops dripping, then put it on a plate in a sunny part of the apartment or house. When they say don't water it too much, they mean don't soak it every day. But it's ok to water it a lot once or twice a week. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79694796 Add molasses and epson salts immediately. I don't own either, nor any sugar products. It' s late. All closed. I have calcium somewhere and mag. Will that do? Definitely add mag and I suppose some calcium couldn’t hurt. Bare in mind plants utilise nutrients in parts per million so less is always more. Your water should have a Ph reading of between 5.5-6.5 |
