The guy is obviously a former competitive wrestler. Back in the early days of MMA before guys cross trained in multiple arts, wrestlers dominated. Only guys who could beat them were guys named Gracie or guys who trained for years with a Gracie. And then, infrequently. TAKEDOWNS are key in real fights. The Gracies hired former NCAA Div 1 guys to teach them takedowns. Competitive wrestlers have years of live experience with their arts (all grapplers do)

I did something like this and it almost cost me majorly. I worked retail in an electronics store while in college right when digital cameras first cam out and were super expensive. They were all on alarmed security tethers and a guy walked in casually, looked me right in the eye, ripped one free, and just as casually scrolled out of the store. I had always said they didn’t pay enough for me to care or chase anyone but the way he did it incensed me. I jumped over the counter and he started to run so I ran after him. I caught up to him and tackled him from behind. There was a cop in the parking lot and he came over almost immediately. He then was more angry/aggressive with me than the thief. He scolded me for 5 minutes about how since the guy was cut/skinned up, he could press charges. I was in days of meetings at work and almost fired. Luckily he didn’t press charges but I would have been screwed if he did.

It sucks but the deck is stacked in favor of the criminals. It might feel right, and even be right, but in the world we live in it is sadly the wrong move. Maybe someday the rule of law will come back... I doubt it though.

The majority of people I believe don't understand that if WE, US do not fight back, this activity will continue and become worse. Apply this methodology in other spheres too.

The bold criminal thug to the criminal politician, by not taking action, you are giving permission. Negative societal behaviors that destroy civility need immediate punitive punishment. I think Singapore has it right with judicial punishment for minor offenses like this, caning!

I suggest a mobile caning unit. You commit specific offenses like this one, you are arrested by citizens or police and held, you are put in a stock at the crime location, your pants are removed and your ass back is welted with a whip. You get your judicial punishment, it is done in public and a record is made. No jail or trial. The offender takes their licks. Doesn't matter if you are male or female, from age of 12 and up, your ass gets whipped.

The offender gets to think about their disposition as they are unable to sit. If you get an infection, tough luck. Of course if justice was committed in error by fraud or false witness like a setup or as an intimidation tactic, well those officers that applied the caning will get the same ass whip treatment times 2.

The sociopath and psychopathic personalities of our collective societies have to understand the risk and the outcome of their behavior.

Do you desire to live in an orderly, pleasant society or one of a criminal chaotic society? You can not remain passive and not involved. When you are passive, you become a carpet that everybody walks over.
