Chicagoland. I live with my brother. I have to the end of the year. I had to come live with him when I lost my job in Palo Alto, California. I've saved some money so I should be alright for awhile. I also phoned the Eugene Mission. I may have to stay there for awhile. I can't stand Chicagoland especially after experiencing two Winters. I'll do anything to get out of here so that's why I'm opting for the Mission. Do you have IT skills? Or own/could create an online or remote business? Many countries around the world have the new Digital Nomad visa for residency. In Italy there are even some small towns that are so hungry for that kind of new resident that they will PAY up to 30,000 dollars (Euros, same difference right now) over three years for you to move there if you are under 40 years old. No actually. Belt Line Hwy (so named because it was supposed to be a complete loop around Eugene - only 1/2 finished) opened around 1966. The name was co-opted by the Pape family and renamed "Randy Pape Beltway" in 2010. No one except the Pape family wanted it. The joke is now "Randy Rape Beltway" because of how easy it is to turn the P into an R. No one calls it Pape Beltway. It's still Belt Line and will always be Belt Line. Pape and his family can go fuck themselves. |

I currently live in the Midwest but I won't be able to survive the Winter. Anyone here been there? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76494684 A friend of mine from Louisiana lived there for a few years. He had a good job as a programmer, but hated it so much that he moved back to New Orleans. He said it was full of libtards and nasty, hairy chicks who wouldn't fuck him. |

There is a trade off well worth it if you like green spaces. My favorite food coop ever is in Eugene, go there they have the best food. It’s a really unique community, there are homeless but they are everywhere nothing new. Everyone is a runner it’s a big running and mountain bike community. I’d live there. |

I hear Bend is nice. Good luck! Quoting: Crowhart OMG dude did you just slip in a Ducks joke, was that intentional. LOL. You real Eugene’sters know what I’m talkin about. LOL |
