I think each continent is like a new chance to start things over.

After leaving Mesopotamia, and after much persecution , Europe for a while was the new Promised Land and the Mediterranean Sea was kind of like the Red Sea.

Then after new persecutions began, the reformation and inquisition, America became the new new Promised Land.

If this continues, then South America, Australia, and Antarctica will be the new new new Promised Land.
