You're always in my prayers, Louis.

If you can, sit outside your house and watch the fireflies for me...and hopefully you have a crepe myrtle or two on your property---they've probably all already bloomed at this point in the summer....

Wishing I still lived in Virginia--hubs and I would have made the drive to see you to help you out with whatever you needed....

Virtual hugs!

A lot of us older ones on GLP have health issues.

I've been very happy to read in your posts that you take care of yourself....hugs you younguns need to, or else you've got an ass whippin' coming in a couple of decades....whip

Heh, take it from one who now knows, who didn't know, and always thought I was going to be the picture perfect vision of health, living forevah!

I hear that... My mom isn't doing so well and I've been pushing her towards healthier lifestyle choices but she's her own person.

It's really difficult to watch but supposedly she's responding well to the chemo.

I'm in a weird spot right now with all of it because I don't think anyone is actually prepared to watch someone go through that.

I know you are having your own issues and I feel the same way about it.

It's not easy to know how to talk to someone going through shit like that.

Just love her and support her, lovey. Bring her special things that she likes, drinks that she likes, food that she likes, a pretty flower, a new little crystal, eh?

There's not much else you can do, save for prayer....in fact, I think you told me her name before, but if you'll PM it to me, I can try to do some energy work with her. A little pick-me-up energy work. I always say try, because I don't assume.

It does not drain me to do the work, and it only serves for the betterment of the healee, and even me, it can lift both of us up....so, no worries about that.

HA! Given that and the status of my health, I should be doing energy work with others everyday!....ohyeah

Any of youse guyses having health issues or are just worn out, drop a name down that you identify with, relate what your issue is, and I'll be happy and blessed to try to send you some energy, okay? You can PM it to me too, if you're a private person.

I'm retired, so I have all the time in the world. No worries at all....hf

So it's known, though: I mostly only ever do energy work in the morning (MT time), otherwise if I do it much later, I'm up all night....tounge and I so can't have that!

I love-love youse guyses....grouphug

I am pleasantly surprised to read this thread today.

Thank you Flash and all who have taken the time to reply, even those who have replied with attacks. The housing market is becoming tight and the free rent they are providing me with is a blessing for which I thank them.

It's not congestive heart failure, instead a 95% coronary arterial blockage; I may have been weeks from death. It was corrected through surgery and arterial stents. All other males in my family have died at age forty. I have made it to my sixties, God surely has other plans for this life.

The issue that has most affected me is the damaging effect of statin medications for cholesterol. They left me incontinent and unable to walk. The statins were replaced with an injectable non statin, Repatha, which while bringing my LDL cholesterol down from 57 to 3 had other effects. Unfortunately, it also made me unable to walk or drive a vehicle behind muscle spasms or musculature issues preventing use of my legs. Just try walking to the bathroom when you pee yourself seconds after standing--not fun at all!

As for my 'evil' wife; I forgive her and am being more understanding and forgiving than ever in our marriage. She hasn't done well behind our move to a new home in King William County, VA and has taken it out on me. Yes, I was and remain quite disappointed in how she has treated me, but with forgiveness and greater understanding is how we should respond to the attacks of loved ones.

WGON, no I would never get a vax; and this mask bullshit saddens me.

Put on a mask if you wannu

But don't ask me where is mine

Cuzz I don't wear a mask and since I don't mask just stay six feet behind!

As for salt, Himalayan only for me!

As for leaving quickly, well I've just no such desire and would return yet again anyway; there is no escape.

Interesting reply about my wife and my cats, she wants for nothing. She quit a $54K / year job because the new boss was abusive towards her. I now pay for her truck, phone, and all hobby and craft needs. She is quite talented at creating chain mail, 'anyone know a Knight that needs new mail?

My kitties receive the best care and were just to the vet this week for their quarterly tune-up and exam. One has an allergy, but he is now much better behind proper condition management. Both are fleas treated as despite being inside only cats, they somehow have become flea afflicted.

Thank you all for your words and for taking of the time from your lives to read Flash' thread and post a word for me.

You matter, your words and thoughts affect others and today have affected me positively.

Be well. Please.

I finally placed my supplements order today, adding a good potassium supplement to the C w/lysine and the niacin I ordered. I had to leave off the cod liver oil, to get the potassium....but that was a no brainer. After assessing my diet and multi-vitamin, I freaking require the potassium.

Louis told me in PM he was going to order the CoQ 10 (400 mg rockon) I told him to order earlier today - WE CAN ALL BREATH A SIGH OF RELIEF ABOUT THAT - and he said he would, and would PM me when he's done so, to keep himself to it....heh, but I haven't heard from him yet, and I'm about ready to fallout.

If I don't wake up in the middle of the night to a PM from him....it's not going to be pretty for him tomorrow....spank

Unless of course he's resting and sleeping, then it's all good....flower

If he's out playing reindeer games in August, though.....mikeno

Happy day to you my sweet sister....send

And g'night....hugs

Oh Louis, lot of us consider you one of the Elders here at this cyber bar. And miss you.

Thoughts are w/ you, sir. If you're on statins, you might think about adding CoQ10 to your daily pill routine. It helps since our bodies need it as we age.

Are you still on the Repatha? If yes, is there a plan for getting off it?

Nutrition-wise: My husband spent a month eating a cup of old fashioned rolled oats, a can of black beans, and whey protein shakes. His cholesterol profile went from bad to great (I don’t know the numbers from the blood work.)

I have stopped taking the Repatha.

I have never liked the idea of statins as they are so damaging.

I have made it to my sixties while Father, Uncle, and Brother all died from heart disease at age forty.

I don't feel any different with my LDL at 5 or less than I felt with it at 57. But if some medication will keep me alive longer I will use it.

Personally I hate big pharma, but some good things have come from it. I'm still alive with quality of life returning, that's what matters to me.

Very good, brother-man!....flower

Two to three weeks, and your energy level should come up, and you'll KNOW you have something coursing through your veins made just for you heart!

It's function is within the Kregs cycle. Here's a link about it--

[link to sideeffectsstatins.org (secure)]

--and about the heart benefits, and although you haven't mentioned you're dealing with congestive heart failure, this sup will help so you, all of us with heart issues, so that you don't have further complications, like a heart attack or stroke....personally, the idea of a stroke is the very last thing I want to experience--

[link to www.lifeextension.com (secure)]

A recent international, multicenter study of patients with moderate-to-severe heart failure demonstrated, by the most conservative analysis, a 50% reduction in major cardiovascular events (strokes, heart attacks, etc.) and a 44% reduction in cardiovascular deaths, in response to CoQ10 supplementation.4

This dramatic outcome validates earlier studies demonstrating the utility of CoQ10 in managing heart disease. It also points to the potential role CoQ10 plays in the prevention, rather than treatment, of heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases.

All of youse guyses that are older should really consider ordering yourself some CoQ 10, and it doesn't have to be at such a larger dose, 100 mg would be a good place to start, if you have no heart issues. Our bodies slow down in its production as we age. If you take a statin, it sucks the CoQ 10 right outta your system....this is so very bad.

But what I love about the CoQ 10 is the energy production. I'm 63, and most (healthy) days I don't feel it. I'm rockin' my life on those days, which are more than not.

You feel tired and run down all the time?....get yourself some CoQ 10, give it a couple of weeks to "fill in" within your body's system, and you too will notice an increase in your energy level....heh, you may even feel you have the strength to take on the world of evil people!....rockon

Louis, it's such a good thing they put the stent in before you had a heart attack. Had I of not gotten to the ER quickly while I was having a heart attack, there would've been permanent damage. I had about less than an hour to spare until permanent damage would've started....the ER crew was working on me so fast and so furiously to get me into the cath lab to have the stent put in....100% occluded main artery, massive heart attack. So much not fun, people.

I'm so fortunate I dialed 911....so very fortunate, because no permanent damage done to my heart muscle.

It only takes three hours from the onset of a heart attack to begin causing permanent damage to your heart.

If you're older, then think deeply about this....CoQ 10 has been proven to be an excellent aide in heart health, and if you are having a heart attack DO NOT RIDE IT OUT....just don't. Get to the ER fast.

You need selenium too! Often heart disease is caused by low selenium.

If you have this time this is worth the watch. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yup, there's lots of supplements we can take that bring our heart and our body's into better form.

I've become overwhelmed with lots of info thrown at me while discussing health issues, and I didn't want to overwhelm him. I do get my selenium in my multi-vitamin.

But of course, it's good that you added the vid here. We're all concerned about our loved one, Louis, so every bit of info can help.

I hope you have a hippy-skippy-happy day, lovey....flower

Thanks, now I need to buy that too.

Here is what's in the supplements I take and there's no selenium.

Hmmm, If I took Tellurium, I'd be supplemented and have anti-gravity properties too!

Until your military service has required you neutralize enemy combatants and invaders in the defense of your country,
don't presume to tell us that have defended you that you don't support every shot we fired to eliminate that enemy.

Louis

May your doctors treat you, as nicely as you’ve treated your wife.

May your hospital room be as clean as your home.

May you receive medical care equivalent to that which you’ve offered your cats.

Goodbye, halcyon days...

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.
