Just a quick example to show how fast society can change
In the 90's and 2000's, Nordic countries (particularly Sweden, Norway, and Finland) had the highest metal bands per capita in the world. There were all sorts of new genres coming out for a decade and you can find lots of quality music from that era.

Metal music is the most cathartic musical genre and is also associated with rebelling against any kinds of oppression be it personal or global. No wonder most kids today don't like it as they are completely docile.

Fast forward to 2022. Now these countries have the most emasculated society in the world that doesn't protest anything, and they completely bend under opressive rules and strict policies. They don't understand that their cultural heritage is under serious danger with the unending immigrant invasion and how it affects their cultural landscape.

What happened really? How did it go from there?

Re: Just a quick example to show how fast society can change
If you're talking about Death/Black Metal then it simply became a parody of itself and any band that took it seriously simply "gave up" and moved on-to other influences. Satyricon being a good example of this after the Rebel Extravaganza DVD was released showing Satyr & Frost smelling 'poppies' under a railways bridge. Bands copied other bands whilst trying to remain kvlt and any originality was lost simply for the purpose of selling albums.

It's unfortunate as the first few years of the Second-Wave produced some of the best Metal music to emerge from Scandinavia but that era has been & gone, and these days the oversaturated music-market makes it hard to find anything creative that isn't a copy of a copy.

Now you have discovered one of the tricks. Aggressive music, burns off aggression, leading to a passive populous. Same with violent video games and entertainment. Of course their are few outliers who actually find their aggression increased, but it is a small and usable minority for TPTB.

Hey now I saw thousands of vaccinated fist pumpers screaming "fuck you I won't do what you tell me" from their sheep pens at the latest Rage concerts.

Some things stay the same.
