TikTok Monitors Keystrokes of Users in iOS App’s Browser
TikTok logs the keystrokes of users with its in-app browser on Apple devices, including passwords and credit card numbers, according to a researcher who used to work for Google and Twitter.

Of the seven most popular iOS apps analyzed, Beijing-based TikTok was the only one that didn’t give users the option to open links with a third-party browser. TikTok’s iOS app “monitors all taps happening on websites, including taps on all buttons and links” accessed via its in-app browser.

“TikTok iOS subscribes to every keystroke (text inputs) happening on third party websites rendered inside the TikTok app. This can include passwords, credit card information, and other sensitive user data (keypress and keydown)”

I would expect Apple to squash this problem pretty quickly, now that it’s been disclosed. I’ve done app development on mobile devices and Apple is the one company that locks their devices down in an effort to protect the privacy of its users.

Tiktok will be given a choice in the very near future. Change this practice immediately or the app will no longer be available in the App Store.

I saw a thread earlier from someone who'd bought a new phone and the TikTok app was on it and he couldn't delete it.

TikTok is CCP spyware.

Remove it immediately and do a fresh reinstall on your device.
