Has anybody here made an Earth Battery? Can you power a phone with it?
An Earth battery is a pair of electrodes made of two dissimilar metals, such as iron and copper, which are buried in the soil or immersed in the sea. Earth batteries act as water activated batteries. If the plates are sufficiently far apart, they can tap telluric currents. Earth batteries are sometimes referred to as telluric power sources and telluric generators.

Hmmm. Sounds like a lemon battery

Relates to galvanic reaction… you need an anode and a cathode

On a similar note I’ve heard of someone making a huge coil of copper wire in free air and it can produce a voltage due to the soup of emf (radio/tv/cellphone transmission signals) present in our atmosphere… similar to a generator, except instead of moving the coils through a magnetic field the waves of the emf travel through the coil and induce a current

5 volts from an ice cube tray setup and it could be improved and made into a series.

Check out this website OP. They kind of give you a diagram on how to make one but I'm still a little confused.

Look at the chart in the link, you’d get the greatest reaction by choosing 2 metals on opposite ends… the most cathodic on one end and the most anodic on the other

Hence the term sacrificial anode… it gets eaten away and deposited on the cathode… just like the metal plating process…. Which it is

I think it's telluric currents and not galvanic.

But maybe you could incorporate galvanic into your setup also for more effectiveness.

But that's the galvanic process which is different from telluric.

It's possible the ancient Egyptians made crude portable galvanic batteries.

I know the Romans used electricity in their temples but only a tiny bit, they didn't really pursue it.

I'm no electrician, but internet research tells me you need 4-5 volts to charge a cellphone.

Why can't someone tell me exactly how to do it from dirt?

Is sand better than dirt?

I'm just a non-electrician amateur but it's sounding to me like a person living in his vehicle could have enough power to charge electronic devices only using DIY dirt or sand batteries that are rejuvenated by watering.

Instead of draining your car battery (translating gasoline into electricity) or using expensive deep cycle batteries which must be recharged from time to time, you just pour water on your dirt battery.

Watering your battery for almost limitless energy sounds good to me!

Am I off base here??

I have 6 acres, that should be enough to charge something more than balls. Now how do we make a phone charger from dirt? How many watts to make a volt? Will it work covered in 4 ft of snow? :)

Yeah it will charge possibly but very slowly. You're faster with a 20 watt solar panel.

Making a simple crystal radio is evidence that there is energy to be harvested from the ‘ether’. The quality/substance of the antennae, resonance capacitors and diodes all affect the power output.

Saltwater batteries are cool too.
I think it’s similar to the earth battery

the amps are way to low to be useful. You could slowly charge a capacitor

It's no new secret that two different metals exchange ions in an electrolyte.

Is it economical? Not really..

Volts = watts/amps

Can you tell me the maximum amount of voltage that still isn't realistic to charge a cellphone?

I'm confused.

no

lol

you can get hit with hundreds of thousands of volts at low amps and be just fine

do you know how many volts are in a static discharge?

voltage and amps are two completely separate things and watts is a measure of amps really with the voltage figured in

think of it like this..

voltage is a measure of volume and amps is a measure of density

400 amps at 48 volts will kill you deader than shit
 Quoting: ^TrInItY^

True dat.
If i remember correctly from my electrical courses it only takes 0.1 amps to kill you.

How about this?

Shirley I can convert stored electricity into amperage, right?

The guy measuring 175 volts...isn't there a lot of potential amperage there?

.
I have a solution,
simple ~ energy from Radiowaves
low Voltage, but it can power phones
and Led lights etc

I speculate on using different antennas
or if I can serial connect somehow...?

Yes, I have tested it, it works!!!!
It's super cheap and easy to do.

Linked to Ancient TARTARIA technologies...?
