I didn't get a formal education; I'm somewhat of an obsessive autodidact - but the field I chose to pursue when I was 16 is more or less the field I am in now in my 40s. The less being that in the last few years I've branched out into related, but slightly different fields just because I like a challenge. |

Was lucky during my service with investments and did nothing but buy precious metals growing up. I thank God everyday he blessed me so much to never be a slave to the system again. But I'm not lazy, he's granted me this time to focus on more important things. My posts that can be misconstrued as "extreme" and/or "radical" are satirical. #NoHymenNoDiamond #PoppedCherryDontMarry |

I loved every minute of it until the last 3 years. The pandemic changed the way people behave, so many are rude and entitled and demanding. I want out after 30 years of work in my dream job. |

Quoting: Emerald_Glow 2.0 Can we still say to our children; "get a good education, so you can find a good job and you are set for life". Whether it is a university degree, or something else... Does it worth it? I graduated collage with Electronics Engineering, and Business degree. The need for EE’s or Field Engineers has mostly faded away. Most of us moved in the software and code development direction. |

User ID: 83918406 United States 08/23/2022 06:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Kinda. Mechanical Engineering Degree, but too stuffy and boring once I graduated. Friends who graduated as architects brought me into their firm to utilize my AutoCAD drafting skills. Enjoy every minute of my work, and have never been without work. Learn AutoCAD and Revit, you will make great money and will always find work. "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear." Marcus Tullius Cicero |

Culturally outdated by choice User ID: 79350418 United States 08/23/2022 07:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm a "kinda". Studied English, history, and theatre. Planned to become a high school teacher, but then I met the public school system of Illinois (fortunately before my funds ran out so I had time to diversify). Worked as a technical writer, a glorified secretary (they called it office manager), had a used book store. Learned computers as office manager and later built and repaired them for many years. Finally, in the last 15 years I worked, I was a radiology transcriptionist, which DARN sure put that Engrish to work. Happily retired now - and yes, I repaid my effing student loan. More deplorable all the time. |

Became a surgery tech in the US Air Force for 10 years and then attended college with a 4.0 g.p.a. in hard science, i.e., Anatomy and Physiology, Organic Chemistry, Biology, ect. Became a medical transcriptionist on going overseas as a civilian/dependent wife, also endoscopy technician, medical assistant and medical secretary because it paid the same without being on my feet all day and pushing stretchers and beds. Then I retired. |
