Don't believe the carnivore trend. A Mediterranean diet rich in Extra virgin olive oil daily, low in simple carbs and rich in nutritious and fulfilling fruits and veggies. I've lost 35 lbs and don't suffer at all. Olive oil is from dry climates like Crete and Morocco are the highest in polyphenols. Also less meat and more fish. Days when I eat only protein and fat with vegetables, there is no significant spike. I got my diabetes from a pneumonia vaccine that changed my dna some place probably.. I don't know. But congrats to you.. I can eat pure KETO and my sugar is just as high and in fact I don't feel as well. Before my diabetes the KETO I went on quite some years ago now.. 30 +... I think.. I did loose 60 pounds and and I lost my genetic hyperinsulinism as long as I kept carbs lower... But everything changed after my 2nd pneumonia shot... within WEEKS... and essentially I produce no insulin at all now. If I am dieting or skip a meal.. exercise et all.. and begin to breakdown my glycogen stores and fat.. I have to take insulin to use them. I managed my early diabetes similar to how you have managed yours above... but over time it did not help. If I exercise and dig into my storage my sugar goes up and I can't use it without insulin. Fats do NOT effect insulin, protein does if you over eat it and always consume protein WITH fat like in nature. It's ALL about the insulin. For you 2 extra tips 1 Don't lower your salt like your Dr is telling you, big mistake 2 Also when following my advice you will soon start experiencing lightheadedness and feel feint sometimes when standing. That means it's time to lower your statins, make sure dr is seeing test results and agreeing but they will. 3 statins are pure poison and you need to be able to get off those as soon as possible. Keto and fasting is the lightspeed path, the healthy path. You will soon never need them again. Take care! |
