We are to learn from our mistakes and move forward. Entering into covid, I came from a strong mainstream medicine background. My eduction, degrees, career. We trusted the CDC, WHO, etc. Many mainstream nurses, doctors, and other clinicians were betrayed by those they trusted most. Those who set the guidelines for safety their whole careers. Those whose guideline helped protect them from unsafe working conditions, etc. I researched each vax independently in late 2020. The mRNA scared the crap out of me. The technology was too unfamiliar, did too poorly in pre-covid trials. I decided not to take a vaccine at all. At this point I had intentionally stopped working, so I had no pressure to take it. I did end up taking the J&J in very early 2021. The reason was intensely personal and emotional. For personal reasons that are not the business of anyone here (and I'm not releasing anyone's medical information without permission), I desperately needed to see my 90 year old mother. I was not going to be allowed to see my mother again without being vaccinated. Period. There was no negotiating this point. I elected to take the non-mRNA version, J&J, which I viewed, correctly, as the less dangerous (but not without potential side effects) of the 3 vaccines available in the US. The technology was more familiar. I also knew that my dog's rabies shot (and others) used the same delivery system. I based all this on simply reading raw data and studies on my own. The side effects known at the time did not typically manifest in my cohort. In the end, I chose to get the vax because the idea of never seeing my mother again was unbearable. You've heard people who have lost loved ones say things like "I would do anything just to see them, talk to them, hug them, just one more time."? Well, there you go. This was my reason, not my excuse. Since that time, I have become aware of podcasts, alternative news radio and videos, and website that provide information quite different than that which the MSM promotes. I no longer believe anything I hear MSM. I don't just swallow everything I read or hear or watch on alternative media either. Especially when it doesn't meet scientific standards. I question stories filled with words like "may", "possibly", "Potentially". I still believe in seeing the hard scientific facts. And as time progresses, the facts are bearing out that these vaccines are not safe. Or rather, that some batches of the vaccines had different side effect potential than others. I also no longer practice mainstream medicine. My PCP is now a Naturopathic Doctor, who knows I was vaxed, and is taking excellent care of me. She's done extensive testing, and fortunately everything has been fine. No side effects to speak of either. I have also taken coursework in natural healing protocols, natural healthcare using supplements, and food as medicine and prevention. OP, I am also sorry that people with obvious ignorance of the Bible are saying stupid things to you about the Mark of the Beast (which this vaccine is clearly not as anyone who truly understands the Word would know). I'm sorry that people are making posts wishing you harm. I wish nothing but good health for you, and that you are able to forgive yourself. Even if you have full knowledge and belief that the vax could be harmful to you, I can only imagine that you felt in a desperate position to go ahead and vax anyway. We need to grant grace both to ourselves and others. I only hope others here will grant you the grace that they would wish for themselves. |

Yes, I made the point about scaling back and eating cheap meals. But the broader story is that I joined my extended family in a place where we live off the land, have our own water source etc... I bit the bullet to eat some crap Walmart food, but we could be self sustainable at any minute, we've been preparing for 20 years. Lots of protein out here if you know how to hunt and trap. In the meantime, I still appreciate a little convenience over killing, skinning and roasting an animal myself. The fact that I spent a year and a half eating lower quality food will not have an effect on the 25 years that I spent as a well paid yuppie, eating the best diet possible and working out. There is a saying "never judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes". It would do people well to employ that. The vax-shaming going on here is inexcusable and incredibly immature. People make poor decisions every day, yet those who claim to be their "friends" should be there to help them through rather than run them into the ground. I also received the vax. I made my decision with the best information I had at the time. Beating myself up for it now, 18 months later, would be incredibly stupid and self destructive. We are to learn from our mistakes and move forward. Entering into covid, I came from a strong mainstream medicine background. My eduction, degrees, career. We trusted the CDC, WHO, etc. Many mainstream nurses, doctors, and other clinicians were betrayed by those they trusted most. Those who set the guidelines for safety their whole careers. Those whose guideline helped protect them from unsafe working conditions, etc. I researched each vax independently in late 2020. The mRNA scared the crap out of me. The technology was too unfamiliar, did too poorly in pre-covid trials. I decided not to take a vaccine at all. At this point I had intentionally stopped working, so I had no pressure to take it. I did end up taking the J&J in very early 2021. The reason was intensely personal and emotional. For personal reasons that are not the business of anyone here (and I'm not releasing anyone's medical information without permission), I desperately needed to see my 90 year old mother. I was not going to be allowed to see my mother again without being vaccinated. Period. There was no negotiating this point. I elected to take the non-mRNA version, J&J, which I viewed, correctly, as the less dangerous (but not without potential side effects) of the 3 vaccines available in the US. The technology was more familiar. I also knew that my dog's rabies shot (and others) used the same delivery system. I based all this on simply reading raw data and studies on my own. The side effects known at the time did not typically manifest in my cohort. In the end, I chose to get the vax because the idea of never seeing my mother again was unbearable. You've heard people who have lost loved ones say things like "I would do anything just to see them, talk to them, hug them, just one more time."? Well, there you go. This was my reason, not my excuse. Since that time, I have become aware of podcasts, alternative news radio and videos, and website that provide information quite different than that which the MSM promotes. I no longer believe anything I hear MSM. I don't just swallow everything I read or hear or watch on alternative media either. Especially when it doesn't meet scientific standards. I question stories filled with words like "may", "possibly", "Potentially". I still believe in seeing the hard scientific facts. And as time progresses, the facts are bearing out that these vaccines are not safe. Or rather, that some batches of the vaccines had different side effect potential than others. I also no longer practice mainstream medicine. My PCP is now a Naturopathic Doctor, who knows I was vaxed, and is taking excellent care of me. She's done extensive testing, and fortunately everything has been fine. No side effects to speak of either. I have also taken coursework in natural healing protocols, natural healthcare using supplements, and food as medicine and prevention. OP, I am also sorry that people with obvious ignorance of the Bible are saying stupid things to you about the Mark of the Beast (which this vaccine is clearly not as anyone who truly understands the Word would know). I'm sorry that people are making posts wishing you harm. I wish nothing but good health for you, and that you are able to forgive yourself. Even if you have full knowledge and belief that the vax could be harmful to you, I can only imagine that you felt in a desperate position to go ahead and vax anyway. We need to grant grace both to ourselves and others. I only hope others here will grant you the grace that they would wish for themselves.
