This thread, is as the title suggests, a Digg for truth. (The title was suggested by one of GLP's members.....guess who? hahaaaaa. i thought the title was perfect, cuz there will be some digg-ing in this thread.)

There will possibly be disagreement, but hey, what's a discussion/debate without disagreement, right?

We will be discussing God, and His existence or non-existence.

For me, i will be referring to the God of the Bible, and attempting to state why i believd in this God of the Bible.

I'm guessing I stepped into something I didn't plan on here lol. Something tells me I'm missing part of the story.

In the dreams I had over a two week period, I kept being called up a mountain, and in this mountain was a dwelling. The entrance was open from the outside, but inside, the door to (whatever*) room I kept being directed into was guarded by two massive creatures. In some respects they resembled the lamassu from Mesopotamia - sort of horse-like, but with human features and wings. 10-12' tall at least. And that's not really what they looked like, that was just how my brain could interpret them, if that makes sense. They had a shifting energy that was different from how they looked in front of me, almost like a "glitching" for lack of a better word.

Honestly, they were pretty intimidating. They said nothing to me but the energy coming from them was one of tremendous dislike, to put it lightly. I assume from the fact that I was a pretty staunch atheist at the time.

* The room I wound up in in every dream does not match the descriptions I have read of a "throne room". It was maybe 300-400' in diameter with one side open where you could see for hundreds of miles out into the clouds. I never "saw God" but every time, I was hit with a blinding light and a booming voice inside my head. I wasn't allowed to speak, just listen. I still don't understand exactly what happened, but the message was loud and clear that I needed to pick up a Bible and start learning. Along with a few personal revelations that wound up being true immediately afterwards.

I've never been back to that place. I've tried!

That reminds me of Saul being knocked from his horse and blinded. i do believe that angels are not little fat babies, but are rather tall, and possibly fierce looking. That is possibly why when they were seen by various people in the Bible they told the people 'do not fear'.

i haven't actually "seen" angels, but i have seen them with my spiritual eyes, so to speak. They were tall, illuminated, and stood "guard" so to speak, over me when i was in dire straits.

That's amazing. It sounds similar. I'll need to read more on Paul. This is all still pretty new to me, this all happened in early December of 2019. So I have a lot of learning I am still doing.

interesting conversation, as there are some who believe that Jesus IS God. And that is why He is worshipped. In Isaiah when His coming birth was prophesied, He was called Mighty God, and Everlasting Father, amongst other things. And yes, it was Jesus Who spoke to and confronted Saul, and knocked him off his horse and blinded him.

Maybe it's because I'm a total noob in many ways, but this argument about the nature of the trinity always struck me as missing the point. We can't grasp the nature of God with these minds. To us, it appears that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are completely separate entities - because on our level of understanding, they are. But on a higher level of consciousness and symmetry, they are actually the same entity. We just aren't able to grasp it, by design.

But again, I am hardly a theologian. I'm a strictly logical engineer type who never expected to be a believer to begin with! So I don't expect anyone to agree with them.
