Derp You do know don't you that those pipelines are to move Canadian oil to American refineries to be shipped overseas? That oil does not stay in the US. And water is more important than oil. We can find other ways to harvest energy but we can't make more water yet. The pipelines break and contaminate the water. And when we do try to frack our own oil, the fracking water used to drill the wells is unusable. There's no way to treat it to make it safe for crops or make it potable again, It's not even safe for most industrial applications. Some states are using it to salt the roads in winter, but it's not supposed to be used within 100 ft of waterways or on bridges. But do you think they follow those rules? Ask anyone from the town of Dimmock, Pennsylvania what they think about fracking and whether oil is more important than water. Heck why don't you ask some of the people in Flint Michigan how important potable water is, or in California or Nevada or Arizona where they're running out of water and want to tap in to Midwest sources.
