Gentiles(the rest of the World, including Christians are meant to observe the Seven Noahide Laws.
The OT covenant was between God, Israel and the land they were to receive.

The Noahide Laws include six prohibitions. Ones against; idolatry, theft, murder, incest, blasphemy, and eating the limb of a living creature (basically prohibiting cruelty to animals in general).
It only contains one positive commandment to establish courts of law, (to create a system of Justice).
Observing the Sabbath or any Holy day, is not a part of any of these Laws.

The Apostles in Acts 15:29, only required: "That you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell."

Matthew 12
8For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

The Ten Commandments are not suggestions and one Commandment in particular tells us to remember it (not that the others are not equally important as well). Why? Because the cares of this world are a distraction and can lead people away from God. The Sabbath is a time for us to reconnect with God each and every week, on the 7th day of the week as he set aside for us as a holy convocation.

As Jesus says;

Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

You do realize Jesús broke the sabbath every chance He had right?

The Apostles in Acts were speaking to the church fellowship, a fellowship that was actively keeping the Sabbath already, which scripture shows is to be done as a perpetual remembrance through participation of such.

What they were speaking in Acts is no different than what is shared in the book of James 1.

Most people don't understand who and what Israel really is. It isn't what they have been led to believe and they remain in ignorance, because they don't study scripture.

People attach a worldly view to scripture and ignore the spiritual aspects altogether, so they remain in darkness on the topic, like trying to look at their reflection in a mirror with the lights off in a dark room.

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath
