Many times military aircraft will still transmit their call sign but not location information.

The information you normally would receive by ADSB is now on TADIL, or Link 4 / 16 system. It is pure military and encrypted.

Usually units will bankroll the fuel budget to the end of the fiscal year. Then they are dumping fuel like crazy through their engines.

If an operations officer is thrifty for the taxpayer, then he may get less budget the next year for fuel. So they burn all they can.

I should have been more clear, I know why they do it. The question is what is going on right now geopolitically that is making them take this step.
