I've basically given up.

I know it's a bit vapid, but whenever things get too much and my attitude goes to crap...I listen to music that makes me happy, it's not even the music I prefer to listen to, but a lot of upbeat pop music like "dance monkey" and "can't stop the feeling" usually helps turn my mood around.

I try and get all buddha about it, but at the end of most days I am just disappointed about how it all turned out. If I had the life, I really wanted all along it would look much different than this one. (wanted to be a farm or ranch kid)

Well, I've come to accept it'll take 9 billion years of reincarnation for people to act right or maybe 900 billion. However, if I do a good job, I still get to go to a nice place.
